The Quality of Life in Patients With Valve Prosthesis After Undergoing Surgery for Valvular Heart Diseases.

Background and objective Surgery for valvular heart disease by valve replacement procedures has become one of the most frequently performed cardiac operations to improve the quality of life (QoL). Its long-term outcomes are assessed using the quality-of-life index (QLI). This study aimed to evaluate the QoL in patients who received valve prostheses after surgery for valvular heart diseases at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah from 2010 to 2023.

Post-traumatic cysts detected by ultrasound in infant presented with first-time seizures: Case report.

In children at risk of neurological damage, such as those delivered prematurely or with history of birth asphyxia, cranial ultrasonography is frequently employed. Cranial ultrasonography also detects cysts, asymmetrical ventricles, periventricular white matter echogenicity, and hemorrhage, among other features. We report the case of an 8-month-old boy who was brought to the emergency department with a history of head trauma followed by seizures.
