A single-center experience of safety and effectiveness of adjustable intragastric balloon in patients with super obesity.

Background: The Spatz3® Intragastric Adjustable Balloon (SAB) offers a novel approach to weight loss in super obese patients [body mass index (BMI) ≥50 kg/m2]. This study evaluates the safety, effectiveness, and predictors of success of SAB in this population.

Methods: A retrospective study was conducted at King Abdullah Medical City, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, involving 94 patients with SAB implantation.

An Unusual Complication of Internal Hernia Post-laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy: A Video Case Report.

Internal hernia is a well-recognized complication after laparoscopic Roux-En-Y gastric bypass. Recently, it has been recognized after laparoscopic one-anastomosis gastric bypass. Alteration of bowel anatomy was put as the cause of internal hernia after these procedures.

Internal hernia (IH) after one-anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB) was thought to have an extremely low incidence. In this video, we report three cases of post-OAGB symptomatic internal herniation. The first case is a 45-year-old female who presented 4 months after her OAGB with crampy abdominal pain and reflux symptoms.

Chylous Ascites Post Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy: Video Case Report of a Rare Complication.

We report a 38-year-old morbidly obese female patient, who presented 10 days post sleeve gastrectomy with chylous ascites. A lymphangiogram showed free leakage from a small tributary of the cisterna chyli. Conservative measures failed to control the leak.
