The PCN coatings were added to microcapsules (MCs) loaded with the corrosion inhibitor PCN(MC). The microcapsules were prepared by the encapsulation of rare-earth metal Ce ions and isobutyl silanol into polystyrene via the double emulsion solvent evaporation (DESE) technique.

Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics of patients with hematological and non-hematological malignancies (NHM) who require unplanned ICU admission and to determine the predictors of mortality and long-term survival.
Methods: This retrospective study included all patients with cancer who had an unplanned ICU admission between 2011 and 2016 at a tertiary hospital in Saudi Arabia.
The novel allele HLA-C*12:351Q differs from HLA-C*12:02:02:01 by a single nucleotide deletion in exon 5.

This study aims to assess the types and prevalence of respiratory infections across two years following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Methods: Patients presenting with an influenza-like illness (ILI) were tested using multiplex RT-PCR (QIAstat-Dx, Qiagen).
Background: Following transient ischemic attack (TIA) and minor stroke, the risk of recurrent stroke can be significantly reduced with short-duration dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT). We wish to investigate whether 10 days of DAPT is as effective as 21 days' treatment.
Study Design: This is an open-label, randomized, parallel-group study comparing whether 10 days of DAPT treatment (ASA + clopidogrel) is non-inferior to 21 days of DAPT in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) or high-risk TIA.
Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has raised significant concerns about the effects of the virus on patients with autoimmune diseases. Therefore, understanding the COVID-19 outcomes in this population is crucial for effective prevention and management. Objective This study aimed to investigate the association between autoimmune diseases and the severity of COVID-19 in terms of mortality and morbidity.

However, it has brought several complications that have an impact on those undergoing surgery, which are classified into intraoperative and postoperative issues. The study's goal is to assess the Saudi Arabian population's awareness of SG consequences.

Colorimetric and fluorometric methods lack specificity and selectivity due to several interferences resulting in a high number of false positive results. We developed an HPLC method for BTD activity in serum with fluorescent detection.

Background: Acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs) are frequently observed in infants and young children. The dynamics and transmission of ARTIs have been significantly impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic. This study investigates the change in admission rates of Respiratory Syncytial virus (RSV) in a hospital in Saudi Arabia.

The study mainly evaluates the physical, textural, and chemical properties of the butter cookie dough and cookies by replacing butter with SW/RBO oleogel. The dough was assessed using moisture analysis, microscopy, FTIR Spectroscopy (Fourier Transform Infrared) and impedance spectroscopies, and texture analysis.

Objectives: This study aims to assess the awareness and knowledge about normal and abnormal signs and symptoms of pregnancy among women of childbearing age in Saudi Arabia.
In previous works, we had found that the addition of micron-sized, irregular-shaped aluminum (Al) powder, or Al nano platelets (flakes), improved the mechanical properties of polyesters, and that, additionally, the flakes led to an increase in electrical conductivity. The aim of this work was to examine the effect of nano-spherical particles of aluminum in a 60/40 PBT/PET polyester blend. A blend was used because it can help with the formation of a segregated network of metal particles that allows electrical conductivity at low loading.

The impact of type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) on psychosocial development has not been well investigated in the literature. We aim to fill the aforementioned gap by conducting a comparative study to accurately assess the impact of this chronic disease on psychosocial development among adolescents in Saudi Arabia.

The epoxy resin is incorporated with SiO as the primary pigment and ZrO as the synergist pigment. The study delves into the adhesion, barrier, and anti-corrosion properties of these coatings, enriched with silica and zirconium nanoparticles, and investigates their impact on the final properties of the epoxy coating.

The synthetic composites were assessed as bio-carriers of the 5-fluorouracil drug (5-Fu) with enhanced properties, highlighting the impact of the polymer type. The hybridization by the two biopolymers resulted in notable increases in the 5-Fu loading capacities, to 218.
