Hyperreactio luteinalis (HL) and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome during pregnancy are both benign conditions where the ovaries are enlarged with presence of multiple thin-walled cysts. The differential diagnosis is ovarian malignancy. Hyperandrogenism with resultant maternal virilisation could be seen in some cases of HL as well as in androgen secreting tumours.

There should be a perfect harmony and blend of basic and clinical science integration and application among final year graduating students. They should also demonstrate readiness and competence in performing various clinical skills independently, after correctly interpreting and diagnosing a dental disorder.

Literature reviews for locally published articles are deficient in the in-depth evaluation of current emergency practices in managing patients with SCD. The study aims to assess the current emergency practice in managing SCD patients in tertiary hospitals.

Methods: Examining radiographs from a random sample of orthopantomogram images was used to acquire the data. In all, 2,801 dental records were evaluated at Oman Dental College (ODC), Oman.
The aim of this study was to provide insight into the role of camel's saliva in protecting enamel against erosion and to evaluate the levels of salivary sodium, potassium, calcium, and phosphate ions among 2 groups of camels, those with low-grade tooth surface loss and those with high-grade tooth surface loss. Twenty-eight healthy camels, 5 males and 23 females, aged 20 months to 10 years, were divided into 2 groups. Group I comprise camels with "low-grade tooth surface loss" and Group 2 with "high-grade tooth surface loss.

Guidelines recommended VTE prophylaxis with standardized, fixed doses for most patients. The underweight population has limited data to guide the appropriate drug and dosing regimen.

Methods: We conducted a quantitative cross-sectional online survey study using SurveyMonkey. During the 2019-2020 academic year, 383 ODC students across six levels of education were invited to participate in the survey.
Unlabelled: Noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) is a common occupational hazard and a major cause of deafness among airport workers. However, few studies have been conducted to investigate the various risk factors related to hearing loss.
Purpose: the purpose of this study was to measure the prevalence and risk factors of NIHL among Muscat International Airport airside workers.
Background: In the restorative dentistry module of the undergraduate dental program, dental students encounter many new terms and concepts in a short period of time. The provision of adequate learning support to reinforce key concepts can be challenging.
Aim: The purpose of this study is to determine student perceptions of how effective interactive crossword puzzles are as adjunctive tools to enhance the learning of restorative dentistry.
Background: Discharge instructions are vital in postemergency patient care to help the caregiver understand the diagnosis and identify symptoms which require prompt readmission. In general, oral or written instructions are provided on discharge. However, there is a dearth of information on the efficacy of discharge instructions provided by physicians in KSA.

Methods: We evaluated a cohort of PBC patients (n=386) attending the Liver Unit in Birmingham (derivation cohort), seeking to identify risk-variables associated with transplant-free survival independent of UDCA-response.

Background & Aims: Up to 25% of patients diagnosed with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) are of childbearing age. However, little is known about disease course during pregnancy.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of women with PBC during pregnancy using a representative large cohort of patients attending the Liver Center at Toronto Western hospital from January 1979 through June 2009 (n = 306).
Primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that mainly targets the cholangiocytes of the interlobular bile ducts in the liver. It is a rare disease with prevalence of less than one in 2000. Its prevalence in developing countries is increasing presumably because of growth in recognition and knowledge of the disease.

Methods: Characteristics were collected on 168 patients with radiological or biopsy proven SC; IgG4 was measured and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography studies were reviewed.

Background: This is an update of a Cochrane Review first published in The Cochrane Library in Issue 1, 2010.Tonsillectomy is the surgical removal of lymphoid tissue, the palatine tonsil, which is located at the back of the throat. It is still commonly performed for patients who have recurrent bouts of acute tonsillitis.

We sought to describe the frequency, severity, and associations of fatigue, in patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC). We performed association testing between PBC-40 multidomain disease-specific quality of life responses and clinical findings.

Background: Tonsillectomy is the surgical removal of lymphoid tissue, the palatine tonsil, which is located at the back of the throat. It is still commonly performed for patients who have recurrent bouts of acute tonsillitis. Although tonsillectomy is considered a fairly minor procedure, pain and bleeding are two of the most common complications; either may delay recovery and can on occasion lead to hospital readmission.

A secondary objective was to determine clinical predictors that are associated with unrecognized abuse.
Methods: Children who were younger than 3 years and presented to a large academic children's hospital from January 1993 to December 2007 and received a diagnosis of abusive fractures by a multidisciplinary child protective team were included in this retrospective review.
Objective: To determine the proportion of children evaluated in an emergency department because of crying who have a serious underlying etiology. Secondary outcomes included the individual contributions of history, physical examination, and laboratory investigations in determining a diagnosis.
Patients And Methods: We performed a retrospective review of all afebrile patients <1 year of age who presented with a chief complaint of crying, irritability, screaming, colic, or fussiness.
Objective: The aims of this in vitro study were firstly to compare fluoride release from a disc model of two orthodontic cements with various surfaces varnished, reducing the surface area by 25, 50 and 75%; secondly, to measure the fluoride release from previously exhausted discs of the same cements following removal of various depths of surface material.
Methods: Forty discs of each cement, Fuji Ortho LC and Ultra Band-Lok, (6mm diameter by 3mm) were divided into two groups of 20 discs each. For each material, the first group was divided further into four groups of five discs, one group acting as control, while the other three groups were varnished reducing the surface area by 25, 50 and 75%, respectively.
