This study investigates the optical, mechanical, and antimicrobial properties of polypropylene (PP) fibers enhanced with titanium dioxide (TiO) and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles. Using a Mach-Zehnder interferometric system, we examined the refractive indices, birefringence, and opto-mechanical behavior of blank PP, PP/TiO, and PP/ZnO nanocomposite fibers under various conditions, including different polarization orientations and during cold drawing processes. The 2D Fourier transform algorithm is employed to analyze interferometric data, enabling precise measurements of refractive index profiles and birefringence.

The Effectiveness and Safety of Tranexamic Acid in Treating Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Tranexamic acid (TXA) is a synthetic antifibrinolytic agent that inhibits plasminogen activation, thereby reducing bleeding. The aim of this systematic review was to investigate its role in aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH)-a condition indicated by bleeding between two layers of brain tissue-to stop rebleeding and improve patient outcomes. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials from 1981 to 2024, focusing on the efficacy and safety of TXA in treating aneurysmal SAH (PROSPERO registration: CRD42024504834).

Design and Characterization of Ni(II) and Cu(II) Complexes With Methionine and 1,10-Phenanthroline: Antibacterial and Anti-Fungal Properties.

This research focused on the design and characterization of two new transition metal complexes, NiMetPhe and CuMetPhe, derived from methionine (Met) and 1,10-phenanthroline (Phe), coordinated with Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions, respectively. Thermal analysis revealed their stability and decomposition patterns, whereas density functional theory (DFT) calculations validated the structures and provided insights into quantum chemical parameters, such as highest occupied molecular orbital-lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (HOMO-LUMO) energies, molecular orbitals, and electronic distributions.

Linear endoscopic ultrasound: Current uses and future perspectives in mediastinal examination.

This editorial elaborates on the current and future applications of linear endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) a substantial diagnostic and therapeutic modality for various anatomical regions. The scope of endosonographic assessment is broad and, among other factors, allows for the evaluation of the mediastinal anatomy and related pathologies, such as mediastinal lymphadenopathy and the staging of central malignant lung lesions. Moreover, EUS assessment has proven more accurate in detecting small lesions missed by standard imaging examinations, such as computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging.

Facile Biogenic synthesis of Europium doped lanthanum silicate nanoparticles as novel supercapacitor electrodes for efficient energy storage applications.

In this work, we demonstrated for the first time, use of Europium doped lanthanum silicate nanoparticles (LS NPs) as electrodes for supercapacitor applications. Europium (Eu) doped (5 mol%) LS NPs were synthesized by green solution combustion method using Mexican mint leaf extracts. Various analytical techniques such as High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), Selected Area Diffraction (SAED), Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD), Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Diffuse Reflectance Spectroscopy (DRS) techniques were used to confirm the morphological and structural characteristics of the synthesized nanoparticles.

Evaluation of the vitamin D response index in a Saudi cohort.

The concept of the vitamin D response index was developed based on vitamin D intervention studies conducted with Finnish cohorts. In this study, we challenged the concept by performing a single vitamin D bolus (80,000 IU) intervention with a cohort of 100 native Saudis. The change of serum levels of the proinflammatory cytokines interleukin 6, interleukin 8 and tumor necrosis factor measured directly before intervention in comparison to samples taken one and thirty days after vitamin D supplementation were used as biomarkers for distinguishing low, mid and high responders.

New Prospective Insecticidal Agents Based on N-(arylcarbamothioyl)arylmide Derivatives Against Spodoptera frugiperda: Design, Synthesis, Toxicological, Biological, Biomedical Studies and Antibacterial Activity.

In this work, a novel series of N-(arylcarbamothioyl)arylmide) 2-11 were synthesized by treating One-Pot three-multicomponent of Aroyl chloride, ammonium isothiocyanate and amine compounds under refluxing conditions. After five days, the proposed derivatives' insecticidal bioassay was assessed using the median lethal concentration (LC) against the second & fourth larvae of Spodoptera frugiperda as toxicity agents.
