This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to provide an update on the role of TT versus NTT, STT, or DO in MNG concerning goiter recurrence, thyroid cancer incidence, and reported complications. Ameloblastoma of the Maxilla With Distant Metastases to the Lungs: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Maxillary ameloblastoma is one of the rarest odontogenic epithelial tumors encountered, as 80% of ameloblastomas are seen within the mandible. Ameloblastoma is usually incidentally detected in the third to fourth decades of life, as most patients remain asymptomatic; yet some patients may complain of a slowly growing, painless swelling. We present a case of maxillary ameloblastoma with pulmonary metastasis along with a brief literature review.

A Rare Case of Thyroid Metastasis Secondary to Hidden Undiagnosed Lung Adenocarcinoma.

McGill Thyroid Nodule Score in Differentiating Thyroid Nodules in Total Thyroidectomy Cases of Indeterminate Nodules.

Fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is the first-line modality in the evaluation of thyroid nodules. However, the results of indeterminate pathology place the thyroid surgeon in difficult management situations. This study evaluates McGill Thyroid Nodule Score (MTNS) to identify thyroid nodules that harbor malignancy in cases of indeterminate FNABs and to guide surgeon about the need and extent of surgery.

Triple Head and Neck Carcinoma: Case Report and Literature Review.

Synchronous cancers are multiple cancers that develop within six months of the initial diagnosis while metachronous cancers are those that develop more than six months after the initial diagnosis. A combination of three cancers is seen with several patients, which leads to a bad prognosis, and that of synchronous cancers is worse than that of metachronous cancers. Herein, we describe the case of a 62-year-old woman with multiple metachronous head and neck cancers.

The incidence of thyroid gland invasion in advanced laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

Introduction: Invasion of the thyroid gland is not a general feature of advanced laryngeal carcinoma. There is no need for performing thyroidectomy in all total laryngectomy cases.

Objectives: To evaluate the frequency of the thyroid gland invasion in patients with advanced laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma submitted to total laryngectomy and thyroidectomy and to determine whether clinical and pathological characteristics of laryngeal carcinoma can predict glandular involvement.

Surgical Complications After Thyroid Surgery: A 10-Year Experience at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

To evaluate the incidence and predictive risk factors of complications in patients who underwent thyroid surgery at our hospital with a residency training program. This retrospective cohort study analyzed the complications in all patients who underwent thyroid surgery between January 2008 and December 2017. Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study comparing MTNS results of patients undergoing hemithyroidectomy in King Abdulaziz Medical City, NGHA, Jeddah from the period of January 2013 to December 2017. Background And Objective: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is an idiopathic recurrent inner ear illness that is caused most often by an imbalance in the metabolism of calcium carbonate crystals (otoconia) inside the semicircular canals, in which the otoconia begin to circulate freely after being dislodged from the basic structure. The underlying etiology of this imbalance has not yet been well established; however, a few recent articles have revealed that vitamin D level abnormality in these patients might play a role.
