Rare histopathological diagnosis of malakoplakia and Rosai‑Dorfman disease in the same uterus mimicking malignancy: A case report.

In the present case, a 66-year-old woman presented to the Specialty Hospital (Amman, Jordan) with recurrent post-menopausal bleeding. A pelvic ultrasound scan showed an abnormal endometrial thickness of 8 mm and no adnexal masses. An endometrial biopsy revealed abundant foamy histiocyte infiltration features suggestive of xanthogranulomatous endometritis.

Level of Awareness, Screening Practices, and Self-Detection Among Breast Cancer Patients.

Objective: Having good knowledge and performing regular pre-tests under physician supervision play a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the level of awareness, frequency of performing routine screening, types of screening methods prior to detection, and who detected the case, among women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study that used a designed questionnaire applied to investigate demographic data and four other aspects: level of awareness, screening practices, type of screening methods used, and who detected the case for the first time.

Background: Mobile health devices are increasingly available, presenting exciting opportunities to remotely collect high-frequency, electronic patient-generated health data (ePGHD). This novel data type may provide detailed insights into disease activity outside usual clinical settings. Assessing treatment responses, which can be hampered by the infrequency of appointments and recall bias, is a promising, novel application of ePGHD.

Background: The major enzyme that is responsible for Sulfonylureas (SUs) metabolism is hepatic cytochrome P-450 2C9 (CYP2C9). It is encoded by the polymorphic gene CYP2C9, which has many allelic variants, among those the CYP2C9*2 and CYP2C9*3 are the most common and clinically significant allelic variations. People with diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM) are more likely to develop cardiovascular disease (CVD), and their risk of dying from it is more than two times higher than that of people without the condition.

Introduction: The rates of seeking consultation for urinary incontinence (UI) and the barriers against consultations vary among countries and study populations and are influenced by various factors such as embarrassment, perception of illness, resources and culture.

Objectives: To study healthcare-seeking behaviours and barriers among Jordanian women.

Methods: Between 1 March 2020 and 15 April 2020, we conducted a cross-sectional online survey among women 18 years of age or more who have UI and have access to the internet.

Genetic engineering of NK cells enables tumor-specific antigen recognition and, thus, has a significant promise in adoptive cell therapy.

Novel treatment in multiple myeloma represented by proteasome inhibitors, immunomodulatory drugs and monoclonal antibodies have produced a deep response. However, relapses are possible, and all classes of drugs are refractory to patients. Next-generation sequencing has improved our understanding of the multiple myeloma genome related to drug resistance and has discovered many genomic variants.

Expression patterns of LncRNA-GAS5 and its target APOBEC3C gene through miR-103 in breast cancer patients.

Early diagnosis of breast cancer can increase the survivability of the patients and the patient's quality of life. There is growing evidence demonstrating the active role of LncRNA-GAS5 and miR-103 in cancer biology. APOBEC enzymes are important players in immunity and may contribute to carcinogenesis.

Effect of Bortezomib Regimens and Daratumumab Monotherapy on Cellular Immunity in Multiple Myeloma Patients.

Background: Treatment with Bortezomib (a proteasome inhibitor) and Daratumumab (DARA, a monoclonal anti CD38 antibody) are effective in patients with multiple myeloma (MM). However, these drugs impair cellular immunity, which may render the patients more prone to infection.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Bortezomib-based regimens and Daratumumab monotherapy on the lymphocyte subpopulations in MM patients.

DRESS syndrome in response to Denosumab: First documented case report.

Denosumab is an antiresorptive drug targeting RANK ligand, currently licensed for postmenopausal and male osteoporosis, bone loss associated with hormone ablation in men with prostate cancer and with systemic glucocorticoid treatment, and also used in oncology for the treatment of bone metastases and unresectable giant cell tumour of bone. When used for the treatment of osteoporosis or bone loss the drug is usually well-tolerated with non-specific musculoskeletal pain being the most common side effect. However denosumab has been associated with some dermatological manifestations including dermatitis, eczema, pruritus and, less commonly, cellulitis.

A prospective, single-arm, multicentre clinical evaluation of a new localisation technique using non-radioactive Magseeds for surgery of clinically occult breast lesions.

Aim: To evaluate the safety, usefulness, and outcome of Magseed localisation for surgery of non-palpable breast lesions in a non-experimental setting.

Aim: To determine if the number of abnormal nodes seen on preoperative axillary ultrasound (AUS) is a predictor of the number of positive nodes at histology for women with needle-biopsy-proven positive nodes.

Materials And Methods: This prospective multicentre cohort study included consecutive patients with early breast cancer who had needle-biopsy-proven positive nodes on AUS and underwent axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) between October 2015 and July 2016. The number of abnormal nodes at preoperative AUS was recorded by breast radiologists or radiographers.

Complete denture wearers often find it difficult to accept a new denture. Personality traits are among the factors that possibly affect patient satisfaction with a complete denture. Our aim was to investigate the influence of patients' personality on satisfaction with their present denture and after an increase in the occlusal vertical dimension (OVD).

Traffic-generated noise pollution: exposure of road users and populations in Metropolitan Kuwait.

This study was carried out in metropolitan Kuwait with a sound level meter to assess peak hour and off-peak hour noise level. In local/collector streets, noise ranged between 56.0 to 79.

Influence of imaging on touch imprint cytology of breast lesions.

Purpose: Touch imprint cytology (TIC) facilitates rapid diagnosis of breast diseases in women attending triple assessment clinics. Some pathologists, in our centre, feel that pathological interpretation of TIC slides is contentious when the lesions are radiologically indeterminate (R3), as these can lead to potentially higher false positive or false negative cytology results. We hypothesised that: '(R3) lesions are more likely to have higher false positive or false negative TIC and/or be inadequate for TIC assessment'.
