Objectives: Double J (DJ) stent is widely used in cases of ureteric strictures as a temporary solution; however, it has certain limitations, such as the need for frequent exchange. Alternatively, a long-lasting thermoexpandable stent (Memokathâ„¢ 051) has been used to relieve ureteral obstructions in comorbid patients with multiple reported advantages, such as longer durability which avoids the need of frequent exchanges. In addition, it can be used in certain cases of urethral strictures.

In this report, we present the first case of chylous ascites following laparoscopic donor nephrectomy in our high-volume kidney transplant center. The patient presented to the emergency department three weeks post-procedure with complaints of abdominal distention and discomfort, accompanied by constipation and nausea.

Non-metallic and thin metallic objects are easily removed via cutting, while thick metallic constricting devices require specialist saws or motorised cutters, all of which may be difficult to locate in the emergency setting. We report a case of a 45-year-old patient who presented with a 48-h history of gross penoscrotal oedema secondary to entrapment by a thick metal ring (internal diameter 55 mm, external diameter 74 mm and thickness 19 mm).

We conducted this study to provide a review of port-site metastases reported after the laparoscopy in managing urologic malignancies, possible contributing factors and preventative measures.

In this case report we present an unusual appearance of myocardial uptake of Tc-99m HDP in a 59-year-old renal transplant patient who was imaged while looking for metastases from adenocarcinoma of the prostate. Subsequent investigation demonstrated no obvious cause for this appearance, such as myocardial disease or metastatic cancer. The case report, therefore, discusses the possible causes of such an appearance and reviews the literature concerning this phenomenon.

The female patient presented with a rising creatinine due to ureteric obstruction, and subsequent histological examination of the excised tumor revealed a KS. The tumor tested positive for HHV8 antigen and, using in situ hybridization to identify X and Y chromosomes, we were able to demonstrate that the tumor was of male origin.

Of the 11,869 renal transplants performed in 2002 in the US, 52.6% were living donors from the United Network for Organ Sharing Registry.

This may make diagnosis and thence the management very difficult with the present available investigative armamentarium. Experience and clinical acumen may help with a decision of empirical treatment in the form of stenting or nephrostomy in these cases.

We describe a very unusual presentation of misplaced Macroplastique injection. This incidentally showed up as bladder lesion and vaginal nodule during a tension-free vaginal tape surgery.

The patient was noted at cystoscopy to have a lesion on the posterior wall of the bladder. Histologic examination of the biopsied lesion demonstrated endocervical tissue, and subsequent magnetic resonance imaging revealed a vesicocervical fistula.

Several surgical techniques like simple nephrostomy or native pyeloureterostomy using the native ureter have been applied for repair. We report a case of modification to the conventional pyeloureterostomy where the native ureter was anastomosed to the transplant calyx to restore continuity of the urine collecting system.

Objective: To analyse critically the reasons for a poor outcome of the Nesbit operation for Peyronie's disease in 51 patients over a 20-year period.
Patients And Methods: Fifty-one patients who were classified as having a poor result from the Nesbit operation were reviewed (mean age 53 years, mean follow-up 21 months). The factors responsible for a poor result were analysed and classified into three groups: (i) deformity > 30 degrees; (ii) penile shortening > 2 cm; and (iii) impaired erection.
Objective: To assess the results of the correction of congenital penile curvature using the Nesbit operation.
Patients And Methods: The records of 106 patients who had a Nesbit operation to correct a congenital penile curvature between 1977 and 1992 were reviewed.
Results: An excellent (78.
Purpose: We analyze the long-term outcome of the Nesbit operation for the correction of the penile deformity due to Peyronie's disease.
Materials And Methods: Between 1977 and 1992, the penile deformity due to Peyronie's disease was corrected in 359 patients using the Nesbit operation.
Results: The overall success rate was 82%, which increased to 90% during the last 8 years with better patient selection due to improved preoperative investigation.
