The fluorophenoxide anions studied include the conjugate bases of o-, m-, and p-fluorophenol (C6H4FO(-)) as well as o-, m-, and p-α,α,α-trifluorocresol (CF3C6H4O(-)). The influence of the substituent on the characteristic vibrational frequencies is interpreted in terms of inductive and resonance shifts.

The pediatric practitioner can positively influence FV consumption of children through patient-level interventions (eg, counseling, connecting families to community resources), community-level interventions (eg, advocacy, community involvement), and health care facility-level interventions (eg, creating a healthy food environment in the clinical setting). Trichodesmium colonies host complex consortia of epibiotic heterotrophic bacteria, and yet, the regulation of nutrient acquisition by these epibionts is poorly understood. We present evidence that epibiotic bacteria in Trichodesmium consortia use quorum sensing (QS) to regulate the activity of alkaline phosphatases (APases), enzymes used by epibionts in the acquisition of phosphate from dissolved-organic phosphorus molecules.
