Introduction: Since the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) and Medicaid expansion, states that adopted the policy have seen reduced uninsured rates. However, it is unclear whether increased healthcare access, particularly for minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups, has translated into measurable improvements in health outcomes.
Objective: Our study aims to evaluate the impact of the ACA and Medicaid expansion on breast cancer outcomes in Louisiana, which has implemented the policy, compared to Georgia, which has not, as of 2024.

This scoping review evaluated whether televisit-based interventions are evaluated among and equitably effective in improving health care use outcomes among diverse patient populations with COPD.
Review Findings: Using a systematic search for televisit-based COPD self-management interventions, we found 20 studies for inclusion, all but one of which were published before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Degeneration of the macula is associated with several overlapping diseases including age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and Stargardt Disease (STGD). Mutations in ATP Binding Cassette Subfamily A Member 4 (ABCA4) are associated with late-onset dry AMD and early-onset STGD. Introduction: Biomechanical studies demonstrated the superiority of retrograde supracondylar intramedullary nails (RIN) against locking plates (LP) for the treatment of periprosthetic supracondylar femoral fractures (PSFs); however, clinical results are still conflicting. This study aimed to compare LP and RIN, as well as, cemented and uncemented nails in the treatment of PSFs regarding fracture healing, complications and functional results.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective multicenter analysis of 60 PSFs classified as Rorabeck type I or II was performed.

We show here that genetic and pharmacological inhibition of the mevalonate pathway leads to reduced human and mouse brown adipocyte function in vitro and impaired adipose tissue browning in vivo. A retrospective analysis of a large patient cohort suggests an inverse correlation between statin use and active BAT in humans, while we show in a prospective clinical trial that fluvastatin reduces thermogenic gene expression in human BAT.
