Purpose: To assess the diagnostic value of integrated PET/MRI for whole-body staging of cervical cancer patients, as well as to investigate a potential association between PET/MRI derived functional parameters and prognostic factors of cervical cancer.
Methods: The present study was approved by the local institutional review board. Twenty-seven patients with histopathologically confirmed cervical cancer were prospectively enrolled in our study.
Engineering a copper coordination sphere with organoimine ligands and tuning the organophosphonate protonation states produced [{Cu(2,2'-bpy)}2(HO3P(CH2)8PO3H2)4] (1) and [{Cu(terpy)}2(2,7-FDA-H2)2]·(2,7-FDA-H4)(2H2O) (2) (2,7-FDA-H4 = 2,7-fluorenonediphosphonic acid) macrocyclic copper-organophosphonate building blocks. 1 exhibits high temperature magnetic ordering, while 2 is paramagnetic. The structures were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

The quality of sennoside-based bowel-cleansing regimes used in Turkey has been known for some time. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the efficacy of both bowel-cleansing regimes.

We aimed to assess the risk for CRN in patients who are at high risk for developing CHD determined by measurements, which are independent from the risk factors for CRN.This study was conducted on individuals who underwent total colonoscopic examination and were without history of CHD.

Intravesical migration of an IUD via perforation of the uterus and bladder is very rare. Endoscopic approach is recommended in the treatment, but open surgery may also be needed rarely.

The toxic, bactericidal, and immunosuppressive effects of mercury are well known. Furthermore, multiple antibiotic resistance can be transferred, together with mercury resistance.

Material And Methods: Ninety patients complaining of moderate-to-severe LUTS/BPO were randomly assigned into 3 groups (30 patients each) to receive alfuzosin XL 10 mg, or flurbiprofen SR 200 mg, or combination of alfuzosin XL 10 mg and flurbiprofen SR 200 mg, once daily for 4 weeks. Patients were evaluated using the international prostate symptom score (IPSS) (total and IPSSstorage, IPSSempty subscores), uroflow-metry (maximum (Qmax) and average (Qave) flow rates) and postvoid residual urine (PVR) both at baseline and following the drug therapy course.
Introduction: Despite all preventive measures and improved biopsy techniques, serious, life-threatening complications of prostate biopsy, including sepsis, still exist. In the present study, in order to identify the risk factors that may be associated with sepsis development after prostate-biopsy, we aimed to analyze retrospectively the data of our patients who underwent transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy.
Material And Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of 889 patients who underwent prostate biopsy at our clinic.
There is growing consensus that multigene prognostic tests provide useful complementary information to tumor size and grade in estrogen receptor (ER)-positive breast cancers. The tests primarily rely on quantification of ER and proliferation-related genes and combine these into multivariate prediction models. Since ER-negative cancers tend to have higher proliferation rates, the prognostic value of current multigene tests in these cancers is limited.

The study included 120 patients who were attending our outpatient clinic with lower urinary tract symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia. The clinical, laboratory, anthropometric data, and CVS risk factors (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, metabolic syndrome, history of CVS events, and smoking) of the patients were evaluated regarding the association between prostate RI level by regression analyses.

The study is designed as a cross-sectional survey study using a 5-point Likert-type response scale, and the last part of the questionnaire includes the Beck Depression Inventory. The depression rate was found to be 64% (n = 476) among all subjects (n = 968), with 91% of those with depression demonstrating signs of mild depression.

Thus, CAPRA post-surgical (CAPRA-S) score has been developed based on six criteria (prostate specific antigen (PSA) at diagnosis, pathological Gleason score, and information on surgical margin, seminal vesicle invasion, extracapsular extension and lymph node involvement) for the prediction of post-surgical recurrences. In the present study, biochemical recurrence (BCR)-free probabilities after open retropubic radical prostatectomy (RP) were evaluated by the CAPRA-S scoring system and its three-risk level model.

The BRCA1 gene produces two transcripts, mRNAa and mRNAb. mRNAb, present in breast cancer but not in normal mammary epithelial cells, contains three upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in its 5'UTR and is translationally repressed.

The causality assessment of several reports provided evidence for the existence of Greater Celandine hepatotoxicity. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of first time PTA in 228 patients (129 men, 99 women; mean age, 56.8±14.
Purpose: To test whether combining bevacizumab, an anti-vascular endothelial growth factor treatment, with endocrine therapy (ET) could potentially delay the emergence of resistance to ET.
Patients And Methods: A multicenter, randomized, open-label, phase III, binational (Spain and Germany) study added bevacizumab (15 mg/kg every 3 weeks) to ET (ET-B; letrozole or fulvestrant) as first-line therapy in postmenopausal patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) -negative and hormone receptor-positive advanced breast cancer. We compared progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), overall response rate (ORR), response duration (RD), time to treatment failure (TTF), clinical benefit rate (CBR), and safety.

Despite their efficacy, uptake of selective estrogen receptor modulators for breast cancer chemoprevention remains low. Exemestane, an aromatase inhibitor, has recently been identified as a potential chemopreventive option with fewer serious side effects compared with selective estrogen receptor modulators in postmenopausal women. The purpose of this study was to assess the uptake of exemestane in a breast cancer prevention clinic.

Insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome are related to increased risk of colorectal cancer. The aim of this study was to quantitatively determine the relationship between non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and colorectal cancer with the examination of routine abdominopelvic computed tomography images taken for staging.
