Vitamin B is very important for human metabolism and its deficiency can cause anemia and the production of large red blood cells. An increased concentration of methylmalonic acid (MMA) is detected much before the transformation of blood cells, which thereby is an early indicator for mild or serious Vitamin B deficiency. A simple electrochemical sensor based on Palladium-Gold (PdAu) was developed by electrodeposition of PdAu nanoparticles on Polypyrrole (PPy) modified carbon fiber paper (CFP) electrode.

Introduction: Sputum smear microscopy is the cornerstone of tuberculosis (TB) diagnosis under the Revised National Tuberculosis Control Programme (RNTCP) in India. Instructions on how to produce a good sputum sample are a part of RNTCP training manuals, but its assessment is not emphasised. Healthcare provider's instruction to expectorate a good sputum sample has limitations.

The chances of curing and reducing the adverse effect of cancer partly lie in early detection. Colorimetric sensor-based technique show promising results since the target is detected with high sensitivity but without the use of advanced/costly techniques through a simple visual color change. In most cases, gold nanoparticles (Au Nps) functionalized with biomolecules complementary to target analyte are used for colorimetric detection.

: In March 2018, the Government of India launched a direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme to provide nutritional support for all tuberculosis (TB) patients in line with END TB strategy. Here, the money (@INR 500 [~8 USD] per month) is deposited electronically into the bank accounts of beneficiaries. To avail the benefit, patients are to be notified in NIKSHAY (web-based notification portal of India's national TB programme) and provide bank account details.

Article Synopsis
  • A fluoro-based Schiff base, named FNEB, was created by combining 2-fluorobenzohydrazide with 4'-nitroacetophenone, utilizing glacial acetic acid and ethanol in the process.
  • * The dipole moment of FNEB was measured in different electronic states through various solvatochromic methods, and both experimental and theoretical calculations were carried out to assess its properties.
  • * The chemical stability and reactivity of FNEB were analyzed using computational methods, Cyclic Voltammetry, and absorption/emission spectra, also investigating its potential for photovoltaic applications.*

A novel N-arylphthalamic acid derivative, 2-({4-[(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methyl]phenyl}carbamoyl)benzoic acid (TMPCB) was synthesized and their absorption and emission spectra were recorded in fifteen different solvents of varying polarities at room temperature. Ground state dipole moment of the derivative was calculated experimentally by Guggenheim method and solvatochromic approach proposed by Bilot-Kawski. The singlet excited state dipole moment of TMPCB were calculated experimentally based on different approaches of solvent polarity function proposed by Lippert-Mataga, Bakhshiev, Kawskii-Chamma-Viallet, Reichardt and Bilot-Kawski.
