Simultaneous Renal Transplantation With Bilateral Nephrectomy and Ureterocystoplasty.

Bladder augmentation (BA) may be required before renal transplantation in children with end stage renal disease (ESRD). Herein we report a case of a 7-year-old boy with ESRD, contracted bladder and severe bilateral reflux secondary to posterior urethral valve (PUV), successfully managed by simultaneous bilateral nephrectomy, bilateral ureterocystoplasty and renal transplantation.

Shock Wave Lithotripsy in Pediatric Stone Disease: A 15-Year Single-Center Experience with 2 Types of Lithotripters.

Introduction And Objectives: We report our experience with pediatric shock wave lithotripsy (SWL) using two types of lithotripters: Dornier HM3 (HM3) and Dornier Lithotripter SII (DLS).

Study Design: We retrospectively reviewed the charts of children who underwent SWL between 2002 and 2016. Patients were divided into two groups based on the type of the lithotripter: during 2002-2009, we used the electrohydraulic HM3 lithotripter which was replaced in 2009 with the DLS electromagnetic lithotripter.

Pure Bladder Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor Successfully Treated With Partial Cystectomy, Radiation, and Chemotherapy: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Background: Extracranial pure malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRT) are aggressive tumors that carry a poor prognosis. Bladder MRTs are very rare and only 8 cases have been reported previously.

Observation: We present a case of a child with bladder MRT.

Nonstented Tubularized Incised Plate Distal Hypospadias Repair: A Single Center 5 Years' Experience.

Objectives: To report our immediate and delayed outcomes of nonstented tubularized incised plate (TIP) distal hypospadias repair.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all charts of children who underwent distal hypospadias repair in a single children's hospital from 2013 to 2018. Patients' demographics, hypospadias characteristics, operative technique, and immediate and delayed outcomes were recorded.

Botryoid Wilms Tumor: A Rare Diagnosis With an Atypical Presentation.

Wilms tumor commonly presents as an asymptomatic abdominal mass. In some cases, it can be accompanied with hypertension, constitutional symptoms, and hematuria when involving the collecting system. Below, we review the case of a child diagnosed with botryoid Wilms tumor involving the upper calyces and renal pelvis in which the presenting symptom was a concern for a foreign body in her left ear, and the only abnormality during initial history and physical examination was stage II hypertension.

Herein we present a case of a child followed up for recurrent painless macroscopic hematuria. We performed ureteroscopy, and a whitish lesion was discovered in the upper calyx of the right kidney.

Nitric oxide synthase inhibition aggravates the adverse renal effects of high but not low intraabdominal pressure.

Background: Previously, the authors demonstrated that an intraabdominal pressure (IAP) of 14 mmHg in normal rats reduced kidney function/hemodynamics. These adverse effects are related to interference with the nitric oxide (NO) system. This study was designed to compare the effects of NO synthase (NOS) inhibition on kidney function/hemodynamics during increases in IAP from 0 mmHg to 7, 10, and 14 mmHg.
