A population-based study of outcomes in patients with gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours.

Background: Neuroendocrine tumours (NETs) are heterogeneous, with varying presentations and treatment options. To our knowledge, there are no randomized and few long-term studies of patient outcomes. The role of surgical and medical therapy for local, regional and metastatic disease continues to be evaluated in the literature.

Endoscopic revision (StomaphyX) versus formal surgical revision (gastric bypass) for failed vertical band gastroplasty.

Background: Weight regain secondary to VBG pouch dilation is a typical referral for Bariatric surgeons. In this study we compare an endoluminal pouch reduction (Stomaphyx) to RYGB for revision.

Methods: A retrospective review was completed for patients with a previous VBG presenting with weight regain between 2003-2010.

Colocolic intussusception in a preterm infant with intestinal malrotation.

The association of intussusception and intestinal malrotation is referred to as Waugh syndrome. A prospective study among 49 children with intussusception found a 40% incidence of malrotation. We describe the rare occurrence of colocolic intussusception in a neonate with malrotated intestine.
