Small bowel carcinoma is rare and difficult to detect, due to its generally vague symptoms. Unfortunately, the diagnosis is usually late and patients often present with distant metastases. After the lung and the liver, the ovaries are the third most frequent sites of metastases in females with gastrointestinal cancer.

Because of her symptoms urgent operation was performed. Appendicetomy was performed, during the operation multiple cystic lesions were discovered on the right ovary and the peritoneal surface of the mesentery.
