The Mickey Mouse Sign: A Novel Sign for a Compliant and Underactive Bladder Syndrome.

This article represents a unique CT-based sign called the Mickey Mouse sign in a diabetic female who presented with abdominal distension and mixed urinary symptoms. The CT scan showed that the bladder was massively dilated but compliant without impacting the upper urinary tract. The subtle clinical presentation and the impressive CT scan findings encouraged us to report this case as underactive bladder syndrome (UAB) is underreported and underinvestigated.

Early detection of Nocturnal enuresis is critical due to its high frequency and the consequences for families and children regarding psychological and behavioral aspects.

Despite the advent of newer stents, in-stent restenosis has been a persistent and formidable challenge. Trials have demonstrated the superiority of drug-coated balloons over plain old balloon angioplasty. A recent AGENT IDE PRESTO (Prevention of REStenosis with Tranilast and its Outcomes) trial highlighted the need for a more comprehensive understanding; therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to elucidate their respective clinical outcomes.

Quality of life and physical activity levels among colorectal cancer patients: An observational study.

This study investigated the influence of physical activity on the quality of life of patients with postsurgical colorectal cancer in Jordan. A total of 108 colorectal cancer patients aged ≥18 years who underwent surgery at the King Hussein Cancer Center participated voluntarily. The exclusion criteria were severe comorbidities, absolute contraindications to physical activity, and concurrent cancers.

Atraumatic splenic rupture after administering aspirin, clopidogrel, and heparin to a patient with unstable angina: A case report.

It is a rare clinical phenomenon when a normal spleen ruptures spontaneously without any prior trauma. We present a 49-year-old male patient who was discovered to have a splenic rupture after he was referred to our facility as a case of unstable angina for cardiac catheterization based on nonspecific electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities and symptoms of chest discomfort coupled with abdominal pain and shortness of breath. He received aspirin, clopidogrel, and heparin before arriving at our emergency department.

Testis sparing surgery for Leydig cell tumor, surgical approach, and clinical outcome: A case report and review of literature.

Testicular Leydig cell tumors are rare neoplasms of the testes. These tumors are generally benign but malignancy and metastatic potential have been described. Here, we present a case of Leydig cell tumor in a 49-year-old male, incidentally discovered as a testicular mass.

Background: The prevalence of medication nonadherence among Malaysian older adults is approximately 60%. However, there is a lack of studies assessing the factors associated with medication nonadherence among this population. This research aims to explore the association between medication regimen complexity (MRC), treatment satisfaction and medication adherence among Malaysian older adults.

Assessment of burnout, resilience, and thriving among academic health professionals: findings from an international study.

Introduction: Burnout, resilience, and thriving significantly impact academics, particularly in health professions, where responsibilities are extensive. This study aimed to explore these constructs among academic health professionals, examining sociodemographic and work-related factors influencing these outcomes.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among academic health professionals via web-based professional networks from August 2022 to February 2023.

Seroprevalence and risk factors of HBV, HCV and HIV among hemodialysis patients: a multicenter cross-sectional study from Damascus Syria.

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence rates of hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections among hemodialysis (HD) patients as well as to identify associated risk factors.

Methodology: A multicenter cross-sectional study involved patients who had been on HD for at least three months. The study was conducted at five HD centers in Damascus, Syria from August 2019 to September 2021.

Spontaneous ureteric perforation: A rare complication of tuberculosis.

Genitourinary tuberculosis (GU TB) is a rare condition that has historically been described as a great imitator, owing to its variable and deceptive clinical presentation and course. GU TB may affect any part of the urological system and lead to serious complications such as kidney and ureteric damage. The diagnosis of GU TB requires high index of suspicion especially if complications occur.

The Impact of Potentially Inappropriate Medications and Polypharmacy on 3-Month Hospital Readmission among Older Patients: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Malaysia.

Introduction: Potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs) use and polypharmacy are two issues that are commonly encountered among older people. They are associated with several negative outcomes including adverse drug reactions and medication-related hospitalization. There are insufficient studies regarding the impact of both PIMs and polypharmacy on hospital readmission, especially in Malaysia.

Surgical amputation for patients with diabetic foot ulcers: A Chinese expert panel consensus treatment guide.

Background: Diabetic foot disease is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus. Patients with diabetes mellitus have a 25% lifetime risk for developing a foot ulcer, and between 14% and 24% of patients require a major or minor lower limb amputation due to severe gangrene. However, decisions concerning whether to amputate or whether to perform a major or minor lower limb amputation, and how best to determine the amputation plane remain unclear.

A correlation has recently been demonstrated between changes in the gut microbiota and the development of cancer. This study aimed to use bibliometric analysis of the published gut microbiome and cancer literature to present the research status and summarize the hotspots for frontier studies.

Global trends in research related to sleeve gastrectomy: A bibliometric and visualized study.

Background: One of the most popular bariatric procedures is sleeve gastrectomy, and it has become significantly more common in recent years.

Aim: To evaluate the research activity in sleeve gastrectomy over the last two decades, and to visualize the hot spots and emerging trends in this type of bariatric surgery using bibliometric methods.

Methods: The Scopus database was used to search for publications related to sleeve gastrectomy.

Baseline Subfoveal Choroidal Thickness as a Predictor for Response to Short-Term Intravitreal Bevacizumab Injections in Diabetic Macular Edema.

Purpose: This article aims to evaluate how the subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT) and best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) respond to the intravitreal injection of bevacizumab and to assess the correlation between these changes. It will also assess the use of the baseline SFCT as a predictor for BCVA changes in eyes of treatment-naive, diabetic macular edema (DME) patients.

Methods: This retrospective, consecutive case series comprised 59 eyes of 39 treatment-naive DME patients.
