High soil pH and excess CaCO are major contributors to calcareous soil limitations on crops' access to essential nutrients, especially phosphorus (P) and micronutrients, which in turn impact pulses yields and growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of bio sulfur granules (BSG) on the growth of black gram and the availability of nutrients in calcareous vertisols deficient in sulfur. BSG was developed by using sulfur-oxidizing bacteria (SOB) and elemental sulfur (ES) through an incubation study.

The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis and determine the prevalence of diabetic nephropathy (DN) among Arab patients with T1D. A systematic literature search was conducted using 4 different literature databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, and Embase) to capture all relevant data about Arab patients with T1D that had DN. Meta-analysis and systematic review were performed using the random effect model, and the heterogeneity of the studies was assessed using the Q-test, I2, and Tau-squared statistics.

Effect of streptozotocin on the ultrastructure of rat pancreatic islets.

Our objective was to study the effects of three (30, 40, and 50 mg/kg) doses of Streptozotocin (STZ) on fasting plasma glucose level (FPG) and observe its effects at the cellular level in rat pancreas by electron microscopy. FPG was measured in rats before induction of diabetes and then on 3, 7, and 14 days after induction of diabetes with STZ. A novel cold-tolerant Clostridium strain PXYL1 isolated from a psychrophilic cattle manure digester that secretes thermolabile xylanase and cellulase.

A Clostridium strain PXYL1 was isolated from a cold-adapted cattle manure biogas digester at 15 degrees C. It could grow at temperatures as low as 5 degrees C up to 50 degrees C with highest specific growth rate at 20 degrees C and is a psychrotroph. It produced extracellular hydrolytic enzymes namely xylanase, endoglucanase, beta-xylosidase, beta-glucosidase and filter paper cellulase, all of which had maximal activity at 20 degrees C.
