Background/aim: Neskeep, an absorbable polyglycolic acid spacer, has been developed as the optimal material for spacer placement surgery. However, preventing its severe adhesion is a crucial concern. Therefore, we aimed to identify an effective anti-adhesion agent for Neskeep using rat models.

[A Case of Liver Metastasis of Colorectal Cancer in a Hemodialysis Patient, Underwent Liver Resection and Chemotherapy after Colorectal Resection].

A 60 years old man has undergone hemodialysis due to chronic renal failure by diabetic nephropathy. A sigmoid colon cancer and multiple liver metastases(S2, S6)were found, and he had laparoscopic sigmoid colon resection first, it was local resection. The stage was pT3N2aH1, stage Ⅳ, and histopathological examination revealed that the tumor was well‒differentiated adenocarcinoma and RAS, BRAF mutation was negative.

[Short-Term and Long-Term Outcomes as a Bridge to Surgery for Malignant Colonic Obstruction].

We investigated the efficacy of colonic stent as a bridge to surgery(BTS)for malignant colonic obstruction retrospectively. 25 patients were inserted self-expandable metallic colonic stent as BTS(S group), 16 patients were placed trans-anal ileus tube as BTS(I group)and in 15 patients(E group)emergent surgery were performed. Some familial cases of pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP) have the CARD14 gene mutations that are also detected in familial psoriasis vulgaris. However, genotype-phenotype correlation in these two entities is poorly understood. Here, we report a case of PRP with a new mutation in CARD14.

Refractory seborrheic dermatitis of the head in a patient with malignant lymphoma.

Seborrheic dermatitis is an inflammatory eruption that tends to distribute on the sebaceous areas of the body and is rarely described as a paraneoplasia. Here we report a case with a responsive seborrheic dermatitis-like eruption of the head which resulted in generalized erythroderma. Intensive examinations detected concurrent malignant lymphoma.

Previous case reports presented pencil core granuloma resembling malignant melanoma, haemangioma, or soft tissue sarcoma. We present a case of pencil core granuloma arising from the palm 25 years after the initial injury.

Elevated protoporphyrin in patients with skin cancer receiving taxane chemotherapy.

Background: Docetaxel and paclitaxel are both taxanes used for treatment of various malignant tumors. Only two case reports have described photohypersensitivity induced by docetaxel and paclitaxel in association with porphyrin aberrations.

Objectives: To examine whether aberrations in the biosynthesis of porphyrins and photohypersensitivity occur among patients receiving taxanes.
