Fifteen cases of peripheral T-cell lymphoma were studied to evaluate the respective properties of various histologic types using enzyme histochemical and ultrastructural examinations in addition to immunological methods. Eleven cases in an ATLA-negative group manifested various histologic patterns such as IBL-like, pleomorphic and Lennert's lymphomas in comparison with the relatively monomorphic proliferation of neoplastic lymphoid cells in the 4 ATLA-positive cases. The presence of neoplastic clear cells is characteristic of peripheral T-cell malignancies, and is likely to be found in CD4+ lymphomas.

The osteosarcomas were subclassified into osteoblastic, fibroblastic, chondroblastic and telangiectatic types and examined by electron microscopy. Their immunohistochemical reactions were also studied. In an overall survey of the above types, fibroblast-like cells revealed poorly developed cytoplasmic organelles with rather short, branching rough endoplasmic reticulum, mixed with osteoblast-like cells that were hardly distinguishable from the former.

In an attempt to elucidate the pathogenesis of spinal cord injury, the authors investigated the changes in spinal-evoked potential (SEP) and serial fluorescein angiography during compression and after decompression of the thoracolumbar cord in dogs. The degree of compression was correlated well with the changes in SEP during compression and after decompression. The findings of serial fluorescein angiography immediately after decompression indicated hyperemia and extravasation of the fluorescein dye, especially in the group weighted with 36 and 60 g.

The circulatory dynamics on the dorsal surface of the spinal cord were observed by serial fluorescein angiography . Fluorescein dye appeared in the posterior spinal artery and pial arterial plexus, although the direction of blood flow might be opposite and the time taken for fluorescein dye to enter the arteries was different for each. Fluorescein dye appeared in the veins after various periods, and the directions of flow of the dye were also variable and complicated.

Two infants were reported with intracerebellar hemorrhage due to rupture of angiomatous malformations in the cerebellum. There have been only a few reports on intracerebellar hemorrhage under 6 years of age, which was due to angiomatous malformation in all cases. The results of operations for intracerebellar hemorrhage in infants were more favorable than those in adults, so even if the infant patient shows severe neurological symptoms preoperatively, an operation should be performed.

We have recently had a case of a patient with primary malignant lymphoma in whom the diagnosis was difficult and prednisolone was remarkably effective. The patient was a 59-year-old man. Mental signs developed rapidly over a period of approximately 1 month.

Forty-two primiparous and 54 multiparous women with total yields of milk not exceeding 50 ml for the first 3 postpartum days were treated with 100 mg of oral sulpiride or placebo for 4 days from the third postpartum day. In the primiparous mothers, the mean daily yield of milk in the sulpiride group increased significantly (p less than 0.01) over that in the control group after the fourth postpartum day.

The effect of laser radiation on the central nervous system has been studied in cases of clinical and experimental tumors. However, no report yet exists on the effects of laser radiation on the cerebral microcirculation in vivo. Cerebral fluorescein angiography permits observations of small vessels that are not possible by conventional angiography.

The effect of oral administration of sulpiride on PRL secretion and initiation of puerperal lactation was studied in 130 randomly selected primiparous nursing mothers. Sixty-six women were given 50 mg sulpiride orally twice a day during the first 7 days of the puerperium (sulpiride group). Sixty-four women were given a placebo in the same way (control group).
