"": A Qualitative Phenomenological Study on Working Adults' Leisure Meaning, Experiences, and Participation.

Leisure participation is a fundamental human and occupational right throughout life for working people, particularly in adulthood. A total of 28 working adults representing diverse regions of Turkey, from middle-class backgrounds, aged between 25 and 50, and without any known health conditions, were interviewed to gain insights into their leisure participation during the period September 2021-May 2022. The acquired data were analysed using the interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) approach.

Comparison of Conventional Technique with Suture Fixation and Subperiosteal Tight Pocket Technique on Revision Cochlear Implantation Rate.

Several fixation methods have been described to secure the cochlear implant's receiver/stimulator, but the optimal stabilization technique is still being debated. The aim of this study was to compare the conventional technique with suture fixation to the subperiosteal tight pocket technique in terms of revision cochlear implantation rate. A retrospective review was conducted on the medical records of 649 patients who underwent cochlear implantation.

Motor-Based Application Process for Cerebral Visual Impairment-Related Questionnaires for School-Age Children with Cerebral Palsy.

This study aims to examine the psychometric properties of questionnaires related to cerebral visual impairment (CVI) in school-age children with cerebral palsy (CP). Additionally, it proposes an application process based on motor functionality for occupational therapists. A total of 288 children with CP were recruited for the study and administered the CVI Motor Questionnaire (CVI-MQ).

The Impact of Cerebral Visual Impairment on Social Skills and Sensory Processing.

Limited evidence exists on the impact of cerebral visual impairment (CVI) on developmental domains in toddlers. This study investigated whether CVI influences social skills and sensory processing in toddlers with cerebral palsy (CP). The study included toddlers with CP, with or without CVI, and typically developing (TD) toddlers.

Relationship between play skills and sensory processing in children with autism.

Play skills in children with autism are limited due to autism symptoms. It is important to determine the effect of sensory processing skill, which is one of these symptoms, on play skills. Therefore, we aimed to investigate of the relationship between play skills and sensory processing of children with autism.

Occupational self-perception level effects on the development of kinesiophobia in individuals with total knee arthroplasty.

Introduction: The development of kinesiophobia after Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) has been one of the important issues. However, the early results and the presence of kinesiophobia before surgery have not been adequately investigated. In addition, the effects of factors such as pain perception, postoperative pain level, and demographic characteristics were mentioned.

Intranasal Schirmer Test in Allergic Rhinitis: Relationship to Symptom Scores and Role in Determining Response to Treatment.

Objectives: The Intranasal Schirmer test (INS) is an easy to administer test that can yield objective measurement of the quantity of nasal secretion and has been studied in patients with various nasal and systemic pathologies; however, the role of INS in patients with allergic rhinitis remains unclear. Our aim was to determine the relationship between various allergic symptoms and the Intranasal Schirmer Test (INS) score and to evaluate the utility of INS in determining treatment effect in patients with allergic rhinitis.

Methods: This prospective study included patients with allergic rhinitis who were randomly divided into 3 treatment groups (nasal steroid only, oral antihistamine only, nasal steroid and oral antihistamine).

The aim of this study was to analyze the validity, reliability and cross-cultural adaptation of the WORQ to Turkish and evaluate its psychometric properties. Methods The cross-cultural adaptation and translation procedures were conducted following Beaton's guidelines.

The Effect of Life Skills Training on Functioning in Schizophrenia: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Objective: Psychosocial approaches including occupational therapeutic interventions constitute an important part of mental health treatments. This research was planned to investigate the effects of individualized life skills training on the functionality of individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Method: A total of 32 individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia were assigned randomly to the study (n=15) and the control groups (n=17).

Development and psychometric testing of the Family Functioning Questionnaire in Rehabilitation (FFQR).

Background/aim: The present study aimed to develop a reliable and valid assessment tool for measuring family functioning in rehabilitation.

The aim of the study was to verify their effectiveness to affect the inflammatory/oxidative process in which free oxygen and nitrite (ROS and RNS) radicals, inflammatory mediators, such as nuclear factor κB (NF-κB), and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are involved. Docking studies of all the compounds were performed in order to explore their binding mode at the MMP-9 protein.

The Efficiency of Sensory Integration Interventions in Preterm Infants.

This study aimed to explore the effects of individualized sensory integration interventions on the sensory processing functions of preterm infants. Thirty-four preterm infants (intervention group) at a corrected age of seven months and 34 term infants (control group) were included. The preterm infants underwent an eight-week sensory integration intervention.

Potential energy distribution of the normal modes of vibrations was done using GAR2PED program. The energy and oscillator strength calculated by time dependent density functional theory almost compliments with experimental findings.

Relationship between writing skills and visual-motor control in low-vision students.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between handwriting skills and visual motor control among students with low vision and to compare this with the performance of their normal sighted peers. 42 students with low vision and 26 normal sighted peers participated. The Bruininks-Oseretsky Motor Proficiency Test-Short Form (BOTMP-SF), Jebsen Taylor Hand Function Test's writing subtest, and a legibility assessment were administered.

Insight into eukaryotic topoisomerase II-inhibiting fused heterocyclic compounds in human cancer cell lines by molecular docking.

Etoposide is effective as an anti-tumour drug by inhibiting eukaryotic DNA topoisomerase II via establishing a covalent complex with DNA. Unfortunately, its wide therapeutic application is often hindered by multidrug resistance (MDR), low water solubility and toxicity. In our previous study, new derivatives of benzoxazoles, benzimidazoles and related fused heterocyclic compounds, which exhibited significant eukaryotic DNA topoisomerase II inhibitory activity, were synthesized and exhibited better inhibitory activity compared with the drug etoposide itself.

Physical fitness of visually impaired adolescent goalball players.

This study compared the physical fitness of 28 visually impaired goalball players (M=13 yr.) and a group of 27 less active age-matched adolescents. Physical characteristics (age, height, weight, sex) and visual acuity of the children were recorded.

Synthesis, antimicrobial activity and QSAR studies of 2,5-disubstituted benzoxazoles.

In this study, a new series of 2,5-disubstituted benzoxazoles was synthesized and their structures were elucidated by elemental analysis, MASS, (1)H-NMR, (13)C-NMR and IR spectral data. Newly and previously synthesized 2,5-disubstituted benzoxazole derivatives were evaluated for antibacterial and antifungal activity against standard strains and their drug-resistant isolates. Microbiological results showed that the compounds presented a large spectrum of activity having MIC values of 250-7.
