The wild edible plants offer a valuable resource for food and human nutrition. The current study aimed to analyze the proximate composition and ethno-medicinal profiles of twenty selected wild edible plants from the Malakand District, Pakistan. The proximate composition (moisture, ash, crude protein, crude fat, and dietary fiber) was analyzed following Association of Official Agricultural Chemists (AOAC) protocols.

Purpose: To assess whether corneal nerve analysis can identify and differentiate patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) from those with epilepsy.
Methods: Participants with MS (n = 83), participants with epilepsy (n = 50), and healthy controls (HCs) (n = 20) underwent corneal confocal microscopy (CCM) and quantification of automated corneal nerve fiber length (ACNFL), automated corneal nerve fractal dimension (ACNFrD), and ACNFrD/ACNFL ratio of the subbasal nerve plexus.
Results: ACNFL (MS: P < 0.
Objective: We examined the presentation to hospital, subtypes of ischaemic stroke for patients admitted to stroke services in Qatar and their 90-day prognosis based on the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) for those with diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes, hypertension and dyslipidaemia.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients admitted with acute ischaemic stroke from January 2014 to April 2024. The mRS was dichotomised with favourable outcome (0-2) and unfavourable outcome (3-6).
Multiple prognostic scores have been developed to predict morbidity and mortality in patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage(sICH). Since the advent of machine learning(ML), different ML models have also been developed for sICH prognostication. There is however a need to verify the validity of these ML models in diverse patient populations.

Circulating miRNAs, stabilized and delivered to target cells via extracellular vesicles (EVs), are potential biomarkers to facilitate diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic modulation. We aimed to identify distinctive expression patterns of circulating EV-miRNAs in AIS patients.

We aimed to evaluate patient's and bystanders' foreknowledge of stroke signs and symptoms and their response at stroke onset. We interviewed stroke patients using a validated questionnaire or their bystanders if the stroke patient had disabling stroke.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute ischemic stroke is the most common cause of neurologic dysfunction caused by focal brain ischemia and tissue injury. Diabetes is a major risk factor of stroke, exacerbating disease management and prognosis. Therefore, discovering new diagnostic markers and therapeutic targets is critical for stroke prevention and treatment.

This retrospective study aims to analyze the characteristics and outcomes of stroke patients admitted to Hamad General Hospital (HGH) stroke service in Qatar from January 2014 to July 2022.
Methods: The medical records of 15,859 patients admitted during the study period were analyzed.
Objective: This study investigated the association between Coronavirus Disease 2019 mRNA vaccination and stroke in Qatar.
Methods: Between December 1, 2020, and April 11, 2023, a matched case-control study was conducted to investigate the association between 3036 acute stroke cases and 3036 controls drawn from the entire population of Qatar.
Results: The adjusted odds ratio (aOR) for vaccination among cases compared to controls was 0.
Objectives: Functional outcomes in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) have not been well characterized in the Middle East and North Africa Region. We report the 30 and 90-day clinical outcomes in the native and expatriate of Qatar with ICH.
Methods: We evaluated the Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS), NIHSS, and imaging in the Qatar Stroke Registry (2013-22).
Background: Posterior Circulation Syndrome (PCS) presents a diagnostic challenge characterized by its variable and nonspecific symptoms. Timely and accurate diagnosis is crucial for improving patient outcomes. This study aims to enhance the early diagnosis of PCS by employing clinical and demographic data and machine learning.

The MSNs were prepared using the sol-gel method. After subsequent processes, including acid extraction and drug loading, were then elucidated through PDI, size, zeta-potential, entrapment efficiency, nitrogen adsorption assay, FE-SEM, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and tyrosinase inhibition assay, were employed to assess the formulation.

Materials And Methods: Data from the National Multiethnic Stroke Registry was utilized.
The EU aims for carbon neutrality by 2050, focusing on offshore wind energy. Investments in North Sea wind farms, with optimal wind resources, play a crucial role. We employed a high-resolution regional climate model, which incorporates a wind farm parametrization, to investigate and address potential mitigating impacts of large wind farms on power generation and air-sea fluxes.

Limited studies have shown that stroke severity and infarction size are smaller in patients with HT. We explored the relationship between triglyceride levels and stroke risk factors, severity and outcome in a large prospective database.

We wish to investigate whether 10 days of DAPT is as effective as 21 days' treatment.
Study Design: This is an open-label, randomized, parallel-group study comparing whether 10 days of DAPT treatment (ASA + clopidogrel) is non-inferior to 21 days of DAPT in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) or high-risk TIA.
Background: Posterior cerebral circulation ischemic stroke (PCS) comprises up to 25% of all strokes. It is characterized by variable presentation, leading to misdiagnosis and morbidity and mortality. We aim to describe PCS in large multiethnic cohorts.
