Purpose: To investigate the effects of varicocelectomy on premature ejaculation (PE) in patients with varicocele and infertility.

Methods: A total of 82 sexually active patients aged 18 years or over who had undergone microscopic subinguinal varicocelectomy with a clinical diagnosis of varicocele in 14 urology clinics between October 2021 and March 2023 with primary infertility were evaluated prospectively Patients were evaluated using the Turkish validated form of the 'Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool' (PEDT) scale. A PEDT score of 11 or above was taken to indicate the presence of PE.

Chemical profiling and biological activity evaluation of propolis from Çayeli-Rize, Eastern Black Sea Region, Anatolia.

The constituents of the aqueous, ethanol, hexane, and methanol extracts of Anatolian propolis collected from the Eastern Black Sea Region (Çayeli-Rize) were investigated by GC-MS, HPLC and AAS. Interestingly, lactulose has been identified. Ten phenolic compounds, namely caffeic acid, ferulic acid, rutin, taxifolin, quercetin, kaempferol, apigenin, silicristin, silibinin and gallic acid were determined.

A Nomogram Predicting Testicular Sperm Extraction Success in Men With Non-obstructive Azoospermia: A Multi-center Study.

Objective: To develop an efficient and easy-to-use nomogram that can predict testicular sperm extraction (TESE) success in men with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA) by using pre-operative parameters.

Materials And Methods: Data of 3093 men who underwent TESE for NOA were included in this study. Demographic data, testis volumes, presence of varicocele, length of infertility, history of previous surgeries, history of genitourinary infections, smoking status, chromosome abnormalities, presence of Y-chromosome microdeletion, family history of infertility, testis biopsy, surgical data, sperm retrieval rate, final pathology obtained at TESE, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, and testosterone levels were recorded.

An evaluation of ureteral diameter ratio and vesicoureteral reflux index in the treatment of primary vesicoureteral reflux.

Objective: Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) index is a simple, validated tool that reliably predicts significant improvement and spontaneous resolution of primary reflux in children. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the ureter diameter ratio (UDR) and VUR index (VURx) of patients treated with endoscopic injection (EI) and ureteroneocystostomy (UNC) methods in the pediatric age group due to primary VUR.

Phenothiazine (PTZ) derivatives have been acknowledged as versatile compounds with significant implications across various areas of medicine, particularly, in cancer research. The cytotoxic effects of synthesized compounds on both normal and cancerous cells, along with their oxidant-antioxidant properties, are pivotal factors in cancer treatment strategies. In the current study, eight new PTZ derivatives were synthesized and the compounds' cytotoxic activities were assessed by 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay while the oxidant-antioxidant properties were evaluated by oxidative stress index (OSI) calculation in SH-SY5Y (a human neuroblastoma cell line), HT-29 (a human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line), and PCS-201-012 (a human primary dermal fibroblast cell line) cells.

This study aims to investigate the factors effective in predicting the persistence of reflux after the first subureteric transurethral injection (STING) of dextranomer/hyaluronic acid copolymer in pediatric patients with vesicoureteral reflux. The data of patients without a previous history of surgery to treat vesicoureteral reflux and who underwent STING for the first time between September 2011 and November 2020 were investigated retrospectively. Does smoking influence tryptophan metabolism in periodontal inflammation? A cross-sectional study.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the effects of smoking and periodontal inflammation on tryptophan-kynurenine metabolism as well as the correlation between these findings and clinical periodontal parameters.

The effect of game-based learning on basic life support skills training for undergraduate dental students.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of serious game training on the performance of undergraduate dental students during basic life support (BLS) training.

Methods: Students at the Ankara University Faculty of Dentistry were divided into two groups at random: Serious Game (SG) (n = 46) and Traditional (Tr) (n = 45). Students completed the BLS pre-test following their lecture-based training.

Diagnostic Role of Direct Immunofluorescence Assay in Determining The Etiology of Erythroderma: Experience in a Tertiary Referral Hospital.

Introduction: Erythroderma is a life-threatening dermatologic emergency which is characterized by diffuse erythema and exfoliation affecting more than 90% of the body surface area. Most common cutaneous diseases associated with erythroderma are systemic contact dermatitis, psoriasis, drug eruption and atopic dermatitis. Clinical-pathological correlation is used to determine the underlying disease.

Wetting of Superhydrophobic Polylactic Acid Micropillared Patterns.

Superhydrophobic (SH) polylactic acid (PLA) surfaces were previously produced by various methods and used especially in biomedical applications and oil/water separation processes after 2008. However, the wettability of SH-PLA patterns containing micropillars has not been investigated before. In this study, PLA patterns having regular microstructured pillars with 12 different pillar diameters and pillar-to-pillar distances were prepared by hot pressing pre-flattened PLA sheets onto preformed polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) soft molds having micro-sized pits.

Clonal B-cell proliferations developing in the background of primary cutaneous CD4 small/medium T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder: A case series.

Clonal B-cell proliferations and B-cell lymphomas may co-occur in the background of follicular helper T-cell (TFH)-derived lymphomas, most associated with EBV, which has been a well-known fact for many years in the prototypical entity "TFH lymphoma, angioimmunoblastic-type." Primary cutaneous CD4+ small/medium T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder (CD4 PCSM-LPD) is also a TFH-derived clonal proliferation. We searched the archives and identified four cases of CD4 PCSM-LPD with accompanying clonal B-cell proliferation (one of which showed EBER positivity), and one longstanding case of CD4 PCSM-LPD, in the background of which a B-cell lymphoma had developed.
