Spiritual Meaning Making and Trauma Recovery: Evaluation of a Psycho-social Intervention for Earthquake Survivors in Turkey.

This study sets out to develop a psycho-social model for assessing the effectiveness of spiritually oriented logotherapy for earthquake victims with PTSD following the 6 February 2023, Kahramanmaraş earthquake in Turkey. The findings of this study will undoubtedly contribute to the development of post-disaster spiritual support services. We developed and implemented a six-week "Psycho-Social Training Programme through Spiritually Oriented Meaning" in the cities of Malatya, Elazığ and Kahramanmaraş, which were significantly affected by the earthquake.

Post-earthquake spiritual well-being and depression levels of postpartum women in Turkey.

This study was carried out to examine the spiritual well-being and depression levels of postpartum women following the two major earthquakes that occurred in 2023 with the epicenter Kahramanmaraş in Turkey. This cross-sectional analytical study was conducted with the participation of 345 postpartum women admitted to the maternity ward of a medical faculty hospital in the provincial center of Kahramanmaraş in Turkey between June and September 2023. Data were collected using the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS).

Evaluation of Sphenoid Sinus Variations in Cleft Lip and Palate Patients: A Comprehensive Cone Beam Computed Tomography Analysis.

Objective: This study aims to compare sphenoid sinus variations between unilateral and bilateral cleft lip and palate (CLP) patients and healthy controls using CBCT images. It is notable for its large sample size and comparison of unilateral and bilateral cleft patients, cleft and noncleft sides, and different age groups.

Do Patients With Dominant-side Distal Radius Fractures Have Greater Psychological Distress Than Those With Nondominant-side Fractures?

Background: Distal radius fractures have a psychological impact on patients, with the pain and disability caused by these injuries potentially leading to psychological distress. It is not known whether dominant-side and nondominant-side distal radius fractures cause more psychological distress in patients.

Questions/purposes: (1) Compared with patients who have distal radius fractures on the nondominant side, do patients with dominant-side fractures experience greater pain? (2) Do patients with dominant-side distal radius fractures have greater disability? (3) Do patients with dominant-side distal radius fractures have worse psychological adjustment? (4) What factors are associated with a worse quality of life mental component measure?

Methods: This retrospective study was conducted by the departments of orthopaedics-traumatology and psychiatry in a multidisciplinary manner at our university hospital, which is a public hospital.

A Cross-Sectional Analysis of Interventional Clinical Trials in High-Grade Glioma Therapy.

High-grade glioma is the most frequent and lethal primary tumor of the central nervous system. Despite advances in surgical, pharmacological, and cell-directed therapies, there have been no updates to the standard of care in over a decade. Materials And Methods: This randomized parallel-group controlled trial was conducted with 95 pregnant women (MBSR: n = 32, deep relaxation exercises: n = 31, control: n = 32) between 1 August and 15 October 2022 with pregnant women who were registered at the pregnancy outpatient clinics of a hospital in the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Türkiye. Effect of implant design and bioactive glass coating on biomechanical properties of fiber-reinforced composite implants.

This study aimed to evaluate the influence of implant design and bioactive glass (BAG) coating on the response of bone to fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) implants. Three different FRC implant types were manufactured for the study: non-threaded implants with a BAG coating; threaded implants with a BAG coating; and threaded implants with a grit-blasted surface. Thirty-six implants (six implants for each group per time point) were installed in the tibiae of six pigs.

Relationship between Class III malocclusion and hyoid bone displacement during swallowing: a cine-magnetic resonance imaging study.

Objective: The displacement of the hyoid bone (HB) is a critical biomechanical component of the swallowing function. The aim of this study was to evaluate the swallowing-induced vertical and horizontal displacements of the HB in subjects with 2 different magnitudes of skeletal Class III malocclusion, by means of real-time, balanced turbo-field-echo (B-TFE) cine-magnetic resonance imaging.

Methods: The study population comprised 19 patients with mild skeletal Class III malocclusion, 16 with severe skeletal Class III malocclusion, and 20 with a skeletal Class I relationship.
