Introduction: Localized scleroderma is a rare inflammatory skin disease that causes sclerosis in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Oxidative stress may play a role in the etiology or be responsible for the chronicity or progression of the disease.

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the presence of oxidative stress in patients with localized scleroderma by examining thiol-disulfide balance, ischemia-modified albumin (IMA), and prolidase parameters.

Background: The impact of routine preoperative anesthesia evaluations on potential perioperative complications remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effect of preoperative evaluation on early perioperative hemodynamic and respiratory complications.

Methods: This prospective observational study analyzed data from patients aged 18 to 80 who underwent elective surgery between October 15, 2023, and February 15, 2024.

A New Predisposing Factor for Postoperative Atrial Fibrillation: Tube Insertion Site.

Background:  The aim of this study is to compare the insertion sites of drainage tubes placed in the left thorax after elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgeries.

Materials And Methods:  Patients were divided into two groups based on the site of tube insertion into the left hemithorax: those with a tube inserted from the subxiphoid region and those with a tube inserted from the left intercostal region. Comparative analyses between these two groups and factor analyses contributing to the outcome were performed.

Introduction: This study investigated the influence of sociodemographic factors on the dietary habits of athletes of the Polish Biathlon Association. Focusing on age, education, employment status, and gender, this research assesses food choices, meal preparation, and nutritional awareness within a structured sports environment. A cross-sectional survey of 54 athletes was conducted using a modified "Eating Habits of Poles" questionnaire to explore food selection, preparation methods, consumption patterns, and nutritional perspectives.

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the anticipation of a mechanical perturbation applied to the arm during a reach-to-grasp movement elicits anticipatory adjustments in the reach and grasp components. Methods: Thirteen healthy participants performed reach-to-grasp with perturbations randomly applied to their dominant limb.

Purpose: Amputations are a common surgical procedure resulting from trauma during earthquakes, leading to severe disability. This study aims to investigate surgical outcomes specific to amputations that occurred in Adıyaman after the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes.

Methods: This descriptive study included amputees who presented to Adıyaman University Training and Research Hospital.

Beyond conventional therapies: IVIG in treating severe fingolimod-rebound in a postpartum patient with MS.

This case report details a female patient with multiple sclerosis in her 30s, who experienced a significant fingolimod rebound syndrome post partum, characterised by worsening neurological symptoms and severe demyelinating lesions. Traditional treatments, including steroids and plasmapheresis, were ineffective. However, the introduction of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) led to remarkable improvement in her symptoms and disability status.

Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis covering a five-year period was conducted at two MS centers. Data on demographics, clinical presentation, MRI findings, EDSS scores, annualized relapse rate (ARR) in the first two years, and CSF analyses were analyzed.

Methotrexate (MTX) is commonly used as first-line systemic treatment agent in psoriasis. We aimed to evaluate the clinical characteristics and treatment responses of patients with psoriasis undergoing MTX monotherapy. Data from adult patients with plaque psoriasis who received MTX monotherapy for at least 3 months between April 2012 and April 2022 were retrospectively evaluated in 19 tertiary care centers.

Background: Over the last few years, there has been a growing interest in workout apps and active virtual reality video games (AVRGs), which provide entertainment and enable users to undertake various forms of physical activity (PA) at home. Presumably, these types of exercises can be particularly useful for people with physical disabilities, who experience problems with access to sports and leisure facilities due to architectural and communication barriers. However, it is interesting whether the intensity of PA in VR is high enough to provide users with health benefits, as it is mainly based on arm movements.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the frequency of sarcopenia, functional status, fear-avoidance behaviors, biopsychosocial status and quality of life in RA women with healthy controls.

Methods: 25 RA women and 25 healthy women were included in the study. Definition of sarcopenia was assessed using parameters recommended by the European Working Group on Sarcopenia (EWGSOP): Bioimpedance analysis for muscle mass (body fat ratio, skeletal muscle mass, skeletal muscle mass index); grip and knee extension strength for muscle strength and 4-m course gait speed test for physical performance was applied.

The aim of this study was to investigate the and genes in patients with primary congenital glaucoma (PCG) from the Cukurova region (located in the south of Türkiye) and reveal the relationship between gene mutations and clinical severity of the disease. Molecular genetic and clinical study was conducted in 42 eyes of 26 patients who were followed for a diagnosis of PCG. The clinical diagnosis was concluded by ophthalmological examination under general anesthesia or slit-lamp biomicroscopy, gonioscopy, and measurement of the intraocular pressure.

Influence of Target Width and Distance on Postural Adjustments in a Fencing Lunge.

The aim of this study was to examine whether target width and target distance influence the planning phase of a fencing lunge (early and anticipatory postural adjustments) as well as the execution phase of a fencing lunge. Eight elite female fencers participated in the study. The displacement of the center of foot pressure, muscle activity of the tibialis anterior, and kinematics of center of mass were recorded using force plates.

Background: Pigmentary mosaicism (PM), also known as Blaschkoid dyspigmentation, is a rare pigmentary anomaly. Background: Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a clinical condition with high mortality and morbidity, which leads to the lack of absorption of fluids or nutrients necessary for the body due to the decrease in the length of the small bowel (SB). Glutamine is an amino acid essential for the nutrition and proliferation of intestinal mucosa cells. The main aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of glutamine on intestinal neomucosa formation in rats which developed SBS.

Clinical characteristics of patients with COVID-19 admitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Field Hospital of Bangkalan, Indonesia.

Following the surge of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the epicenter of East Java Province, this study aimed to determine the clinical characteristics of patients with COVID-19 at one of the emergency field hospitals in Indonesia. This was a single-centered, retrospective descriptive study of 763 patients admitted to the COVID-19 Emergency Field Hospital of Bangkalan from July 5 2021 to September 30 2021. The demographic data, clinical signs and symptoms, pre-existing comorbidities, therapy, and clinical outcomes of the patients were analyzed using SPSS.
