Background: Machine learning (ML) is increasingly used to predict clinical deterioration in intensive care unit (ICU) patients through scoring systems. Although promising, such algorithms often overfit their training cohort and perform worse at new hospitals. Thus, external validation is a critical - but frequently overlooked - step to establish the reliability of predicted risk scores to translate them into clinical practice.

However, there are essential differences among these systems. This study aimed to determine and compare the category-based diagnostic performance of four US-based risk stratification systems in the detection of thyroid cancer: ACR-TIRADS, ATA, K-TIRADS, and EU-TIRADS.

Material And Methods: Thirty-six Sprague Dawley rats were divided into five groups. The first and second groups were irradiated at a dose rate of 300 monitor unit/minute (MU/min) and 600 MU/min, respectively.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility of the use of shear wave elastography (SWE) in comparison to chemical shift encoding (CSE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the evaluation of multifidus muscle fatty degeneration in patients with chronic low back pain.
Method: Multifidus muscles were evaluated with the CSE-MRI and SWE examinations in control and patient groups. With the in-phase and out-phase sequences in CSE-MRI, signal intensity index (SII), and signal intensity suppression ratio (SISR) values; with the SWE method, shear wave velocity values were determined.
The incidence and prevalence of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) in many organs are increasing. Although such NENs have similar grades, they may exhibit quite different behaviors. In this multicenter study, we aimed to investigate the prevalence and distribution of different morphological NEN variants in the non-pancreatic gastrointestinal (GI) tract and determine whether they can guide prognosis prediction.

This study aims to shed light on the effects of BIIAL on bladder perfusion and urinary system integrity, thereby elucidating urinary function disorders following pelvic surgery.
Methods: Demographic and medical data were collected from a total of 192 female patients, with and without the application of BIIAL. Urinary incontinence conditions were assessed using the Questionnaire for Urinary Incontinence Diagnosis (QUID) test.
Introduction: This study evaluates the effects of dressing timing after abdominal hysterectomy on wound healing and infection risk. It highlights the potential for early dressing removal to accelerate healing and underscores the need for clear guidelines in wound care that align with the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) protocol.
Methods: Using a prospective, randomized, double-blind design, this research was carried out at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey.
Background: Diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a useful method to evaluate tumor biology and tumor microstructure. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value correlates negatively with the cellular density of the tumor.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the ADC histogram analysis in showing the relationship between breast cancer prognostic factors and ADC parameters.
Early detection of colon adenomatous polyps is pivotal in reducing colon cancer risk. In this context, accurately distinguishing between adenomatous polyp subtypes, especially tubular and tubulovillous, from hyperplastic variants is crucial. This study introduces a cutting-edge computer-aided diagnosis system optimized for this task.

A visible DWI lesion without corresponding parenchymal hyperintensity on FLAIR suggests time since onset of under 4.5 h and thus a potential benefit from intravenous thrombolysis.

Mechanistic simulations of brain hemodynamics offer an alternative precision medicine approach by utilising individual patient characteristics. For clinical use, however, current simulation frameworks have insufficient validation.

Introduction: Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) is a chemical compound, which has been shown to possess numerous biological features such as anticoagulation, inhibition of platelet aggregation, anti-inflammation, capillary dilatation, improvement in microcirculation, and protection against reactive oxygen radicals. The aim of the present study was to investigate the protective effect of TMP against radiation-induced ototoxicity.
Materials And Methods: 40 rats were divided into four groups.
Background: Established randomized trial-based parameters for acute ischemic stroke group patients into generic treatment groups, leading to attempts using various artificial intelligence (AI) methods to directly correlate patient characteristics to outcomes and thereby provide decision support to stroke clinicians. We review AI-based clinical decision support systems in the development stage, specifically regarding methodological robustness and constraints for clinical implementation.
Methods: Our systematic review included full-text English language publications proposing a clinical decision support system using AI techniques for direct decision support in acute ischemic stroke cases in adult patients.
Background And Objective: Early detection of colon adenomatous polyps is critically important because correct detection of it significantly reduces the potential of developing colon cancers in the future. The key challenge in the detection of adenomatous polyps is differentiating it from its visually similar counterpart, non-adenomatous tissues. Currently, it solely depends on the experience of the pathologist.

Objective: To search whether there is a correlation between middle hepatic venous indices (HVIs) obtained by pulsed waved doppler ultrasonography (PW-DUS) and the main pulmonary artery (mPA) diameter, calculated by computed tomography (CT).
Study Design: A descriptive cross-sectional study.
Place And Duration Of Study: Department of Radiology, Balikesir University School of Medicine, Turkey, from February to December 2020.
Brain arteries are routinely imaged in the clinical setting by various modalities, e.g., time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (TOF-MRA).

Predicting non-responder patients can prevent exposure to adverse effects associated with chemotherapeutic agents and delays in selecting other treatment modalities. In this study, we aimed at identifying predictive factors related to tumor regression in patients with BC who received NAC.

Despite this, they may cause a pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) disease characterized by mucinous deposits in the peritoneal cavity and may exhibit malignant behavior.
Aims And Objectives: In this study, we evaluated the clinical course and histopathological findings of LAMN.
Pathogenic variants in are associated with a spectrum of clinical syndromes ranging from Lethal Neonatal Rigidity and Multifocal Seizure syndrome (RMFSL) to Neurodevelopmental Disorder with Cerebellar Atrophy and with or without Seizures (NEDCAS). RMFSL is characterized by early-onset multifocal seizures with microcephaly. Death occurs during infancy although a less severe course with later onset seizures and longer survival into childhood has been described.
