Betong chicken (KU line) is a slow-growing Thai native chicken used for meat production. The objectives of this study were to identify polymorphisms of the calpain1 (CAPN1) and calpain3 (CAPN3) genes and to investigate their effects on growth, carcass, and meat quality traits in Betong chickens (KU line). A sample of 252 Betong chickens (KU line) was screened for CAPN1 and CAPN3 polymorphisms.

Laboratory data indicated multiple organ failure in addition to hemoconcentration, hypoalbuminemia, and myocardial damage. The coronary angiography findings were normal, and fulminant myocarditis was suspected.

In this study, we used a set of 78 genome-wide microsatellite markers to analyse the genetic diversity and geographic differentiation patterns in a global collection of 2,050 G.

We herein report a case of refractory lymphatic ascites after uterine cancer surgery treated with bilateral inguinal lymphaticovenular anastomosis (LVA). LVA was performed four months after the uterine cancer surgery in a patient with refractory ascites that had developed one month after the gynecologic surgery. One year and eight months after LVA, there was no recurrence of ascites accumulation.

Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) are the essential first responders who treat these patients, and their current attitudes towards electrocardiograms (ECGs) have not been identified. This study investigated the awareness of EMTs of ECGs to shorten hospital arrival time, improving patient prognosis.

While a theoretical study has predicted that this material is a magnetic Weyl semimetal, SX-ARPES measurements give direct evidence for a semiconducting state in the ferromagnetic phase. Band calculations based on the density functional theory with hybrid functionals reproduce the experimentally determined band gap value, and the calculated band dispersion matches well with ARPES experiments.

Such root pathogens and parasites often rely on plant-secreted signaling molecules in the rhizosphere as host guidance cues. Here we describe the isolation and characterization of a chemoattractant of plant-parasitic root-knot nematodes (, RKN).

We have recently shown that experimental powder x-ray diffraction (XRD) data are helpful in a crystal structure search using simulated annealing, even when they are insufficient for structure determination by themselves [Tsujimoto et al., Phys.

He had had a high fever for three days with vomiting and abdominal pain before arriving at our hospital. The patient visited a local hospital and was diagnosed with heart failure and acute appendicitis.

However, only a few reports have compared the effectiveness and safety of these DOACs. We retrospectively enrolled 702 patients who received DOACs for VTE treatment between September 2014 and March 2020.

PTRA for renovascular FMD is performed with only balloons based on the consensus that stent kinking and fracture have been reported in cases of PTRA using stents for FMD. Therefore, it is important to avoid procedural complications, such as flow-limiting dissection or arterial rupture, in PTRA for renovascular FMD.

Especially, sophisticated manipulation techniques of quantum degrees of freedom of excitons are in demand. In this Letter we propose a technique of forming an optical dipole trap for excitons in graphane, a two-dimensional wide gap semiconductor, based on first-principles calculations.

To address this issue, it is important to improve our understanding of the effects of climate change by applying the simulation model including both genetic and environmental factors with their interactions (G×E). To achieve this goal, we conducted the field experiments for soybean core collections using multiple sowing times in multi-latitudinal fields.

These grasses are utilized in many agricultural production systems with their greatest value as feeds for livestock, bioethanol, and turf. However, many important warm-season perennial grasses multiply either by vegetative propagation or form their seeds by an asexual mode of reproduction called apomixis.
