Enfortumab vedotin (EV) was recently approved by the FDA and has become a new therapeutic option for patients previously managed with conventional treatments. Despite its efficacy, EV carries the potential for infrequent yet severe adverse effects.

More Than a Decade Since the Latest CONSORT Non-inferiority Trials Extension: Do Infectious Diseases Trials Do Enough?

More than a decade after the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials group released a reporting items checklist for non-inferiority randomized controlled trials, the infectious diseases literature continues to underreport these items. Trialists, journals, and peer reviewers should redouble their efforts to ensure infectious diseases studies meet these minimum reporting standards.

Methodological and Reporting Quality of Noninferiority Randomized Controlled Trials Comparing Antiretroviral Therapies: A Systematic Review.

Background: It is unclear whether the reporting quality of antiretroviral (ARV) noninferiority (NI) randomized controlled trials (RCTs) has improved since the CONSORT guideline release in 2006. The primary objective of this systematic review was assessing the methodological and reporting quality of ARV NI-RCTs. We also assessed reporting quality by funding source and publication year.

A first case of prosthetic joint infection with Actinomyces radingae.

Prosthetic joint infection is a common clinical orthopedic problem but infections caused by Actinomyces species have been rarely reported. An increasing number of reports identifying Actinomyces in cases of prosthetic joint infection suggest it may be an emerging pathogen. We describe here the first known case of a prosthetic joint infection caused by Actinomyces radingae.

Cannabinoids are chemicals derived naturally from the cannabis plant or are synthetically manufactured. Within palliative medicine, cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) may modulate some cancer symptoms: appetite, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, and mood, pain and sleep disorders.

Radiofrequency Ablation of Parathyroid Adenomas: Safety and Efficacy in a Study of 10 Patients.

Purpose: To evaluate safety and effectiveness of ultrasound-guided percutaneous radiofrequency ablation of parathyroid adenoma in surgically unfit patients with hypercalcemia because of hyperparathyroidism.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective review of hospital records from Jan 2012 to Dec 2018 revealed 10 patients, who had undergone ablation for solitary parathyroid adenoma. All 10 patients suffered from hyperparathyroidism because of parathyroid adenoma, resulting in hypercalcemia.

Present study deals with results of fine needle aspiration of both the testes in a patient with azoospermia. Surprisingly, aspiration of right testis revealed large number of microfilariae in the smears. Conversely, left testicular aspirate showed few spermatogonia.

Fingerprint Ridge Density as a Potential Forensic Anthropological Tool for Sex Identification.

In cases of partial or poor print recovery and lack of database/suspect print, fingerprint evidence is generally neglected. In light of such constraints, this study was designed to examine whether ridge density can aid in narrowing down the investigation for sex identification. The study was conducted on the right-hand index digit of 245 males and 246 females belonging to the Punjabis of Delhi region.

Objective: The problem of RTI/STI is of growing concern worldwide, especially in developing countries; where each year 340 million new cases curable STI occur. Out of these 151 million are in South and Southeast Asia (WHO, 2001). The present paper attempts to capture the prevalence of leukorrhea, its knowledge and perceptions among currently married women of the age-group, 15-49 years, in a south Asian urban-slum dwelling community.

Cerebral encephalopathy with extrapontine myelinolysis in a case of postpartum hypernatremia.

Extrapontine myelinolysis, a fairly common metabolic disorder, is associated with neurological complications. Central pontine and extrapontine myelinolysis are commonly recognized with rapid correction of sodium. Myelinolysis, however, has rarely been described with hypernatremia.

Amongst them, cavernomas located at the foramen of Monro are of greater interest because of their rare location, varied symptoms, and often association with hydrocephalus. We present a rare case of cavernous hemangioma located at foramen of Monro, with its radiopathological confirmation.
