Introduction: The contemporary management of patients with colorectal cancer and synchronous liver metastases is complex. This study appraises the recommendations made by national/international guidelines for the diagnosis and management of patients with synchronous liver metastases from colorectal cancer.
Methods: A systematic review of national and international guidelines published between 2011 and 2024 was carried out using PubMed, OvidSP and Guidelines International Network databases.

Objective: To validate the ISGPS definition and grading system of PPAP after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD).
Summary Background Data: In 2022, the International Study Group for Pancreatic Surgery (ISGPS) defined post-pancreatectomy acute pancreatitis (PPAP) and recommended a prospective validation of its diagnostic criteria and grading system.
Methods: This was a prospective, international, multicenter study including patients undergoing PD at 17 referral pancreatic centers across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the United States.
Background: Since there is no current international consensus on the optimal approach for pain management in acute pancreatitis (AP), analgesic practices may vary across different healthcare settings.
Objective: This study explored global disparities in analgesic use, in particular opioids, during admission and at discharge in hospitalised AP patients.
Methods: This was a post hoc analysis of the prospective PAINAP database, which included all admissions for AP between April and June 2022 with a 1-month follow-up.

Objective: To determine the interobserver variability for complications of pancreatoduodenectomy as defined by the International Study Group for Pancreatic Surgery (ISGPS) and others.
Background: Good interobserver variability for the definitions of surgical complications is of major importance in comparing surgical outcomes between and within centers. However, data on interobserver variability for pancreatoduodenectomy-specific complications are lacking.
Introduction: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) exhibit a wide spectrum of clinical behavior, which makes their assessment and management quite challenging. The purpose of this study was to comprehensively assess the existing treatment landscape for patients with pNET.
Materials And Methods: The study was conducted with the support of the ESSO-EYSAC Research Academy in collaboration with the E-AHPBA.
Objective: The ISGPS aims to develop a universally accepted complexity and experience grading system to guide the safe implementation of robotic and laparoscopic minimally-invasive pancreatoduodenectomy (MIPD).
Background: Despite the perceived advantages of MIPD, its global adoption has been slow due to the inherent complexity of the procedure and challenges to acquiring surgical experience. Its wider adoption must be undertaken with an emphasis towards appropriate patient selection according to adequate surgeon and center experience.

Background: Despite the increased use of minimally invasive approaches for pancreatoduodenectomy (PD), the association between surgical approach and venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk is still unknown. This study aims to compare VTE rates following open (OPD) and minimally invasive pancreatoduodenectomy (MIPD).
Method: MEDLINE, Web of Sciences and EMBASE databases were searched to identify eligible studies.
Background: A large proportion of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) presents with synchronous colorectal liver metastases (sCRLM) at diagnosis. Surgical approaches for patients with sCRLM have evolved over the past decades.
