Body Mass Index and Inguinal Hernia: An Observational Study Focusing on the Association of Inguinal Hernia With Body Mass Index.

Objective An inguinal hernia is a common condition associated with advanced age, male gender, smoking, connective tissue disorder, and factors responsible for increased intra-abdominal pressure. This study aimed to observe the relationship of body mass index with the development of inguinal hernia in males and females. Methodology This cross-sectional descriptive study using a non-probability convenient sampling technique was carried out at Al-Tibri medical college and hospital, Karachi, Pakistan.

Multicystic oligodendroglioma with calvarial destruction.

Context: Calvarial erosion is known to occur with some superficially located tumors. Very few case reports of calvarial erosion associated with oligodendroglioma are reported in the literature, but calvarial destruction with oligodendroglioma is very rare.

Aim: To report an unusual case of multicystic frontoparietal oligodendroglioma with destruction of the calvaria and scalp involvement in the absence of prior surgery or radiation.

Fracture of the styloid process associated with the mandible fracture.

Fracture of the styloid process (SP) of temporal bone is an uncommon injuries. Fracture of the SP can be associated with the facial injuries including mandible fracture. However, injury to the SP may be concealed and missed diagnosis may lead to the improper or various unnecessary treatments.

Comparative evaluation of 2.0-mm locking plate system vs. 2.0-mm nonlocking plate system for mandibular fractures--a retrospective study.

Introduction: The purpose of this retrospective study is to evaluate the efficacy of the 2.0-mm locking miniplate/screw system in comparison to the 2.0-mm nonlocking miniplate/screw system in mirror image mandibular fractures.

Modified presurgical nasoalveolar molding in the infants with complete unilateral cleft lip and palate: a stepwise approach.

Presurgical orthopedics in one or the other form has been an important part of the multidisciplinary approach towards the better cleft care. Presurgical nasoalveolar molding (PNAM) was described as a modified approach to the conventional form of orthopedics. PNAM not only reduces the severity of the alveolar defect before surgery, it also reduces the nasal deformity bringing it near to the normal.
