Hepatoblastoma is a rare pediatric cancer. Hepatoblastoma typically presents asymptomatically with an enlarging abdominal mass but can be associated with paraneoplastic secretion of beta-gonadotropin leading it to present like peripheral precocious puberty. This case highlights a rare initial presentation of hepatoblastoma as precocious puberty in a two-year-old patient who presented with persistent abdominal and genital pain.

Objective To explore the training needs of the home care workforce in supporting the social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples receiving aged care services through the Home Care Package (HCP) Program. Methods A mixed-methods design including (1) a focus group and interview with coordinators of HCP Program services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across metropolitan and rural South Australia in April and June 2022, and (2) a desktop review of training, professional development opportunities and resources for existing and pre-entry workforce addressing the SEWB of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in aged care across the Vocational Education Training and higher education sectors in South Australia, the Australian Indigenous HealthInfoNet, the Department of Health and Aged Care website and aged care email alerts between December 2021 and September 2022. Results Five themes representing workforce training needs were identified: cultural safety, trauma-informed care, case management, compliance with funding rules and preferred formats for training.

Background/objective: Paragangliomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors that primarily arise in the adrenal gland. Head and neck paragangliomas comprise approximately 3% of all extra-adrenal paragangliomas, with a majority of those being found in the carotid body. Recurrent laryngeal nerve paragangliomas are exceedingly rare, with only 2 reported cases found in literature review.

Introduction: The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of textbook oncologic outcome (TOO) and its impact on overall survival (OS) among patients with invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) following modified radical mastectomy (MRM) versus MRM with contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (MRM ​+ ​CPM).

Methods: The 2004-2017 National Cancer Database was queried for patients with IDC who underwent MRM and MRM ​+ ​CPM. TOO was defined as: resection with negative margins, adequate lymphadenectomy, length of stay ≤50th percentile, and no 30-day readmission or mortality.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused major disruption to anatomical teaching worldwide with both lectures and practicals being moved online. Throughout this period anatomists were able to find new and innovative ways to teach and to aid student learning via a variety of delivery modes. This study aimed to interview anatomists who were involved in teaching undergraduate medical students at UK universities to document the changes that occurred and to understand academic perceptions of pandemic delivery to comprehend how anatomy education may change in the long term.

This paper aims to outline the development of a theoretically informed and evidence-based intervention strategy to underpin interventions to support the well-being of doctors during COVID-19 and beyond; delineate new ways of working were employed to ensure a rapid and rigorous process of intervention development and present the resulting novel framework for intervention development. The research comprised four workstreams: literature review (WS1), qualitative study (WS2), intervention development and implementation (WS3) and evaluation (WS4). Due to time constraints, we employed a parallel design for WS1-3 with the findings of WS1-2 informing WS3 on a continual basis.

Objective: To develop and conduct preliminary feasibility testing of a clinical screening instrument for early identification of COVID-19 infection in older people residing in residential aged care services (RACS).

Methods: A qualitative study was conducted using a multi-modal approach involving examination of existing literature and national guidelines for COVID-19 clinical screening, formulation of a discussion document with peer review and feasibility testing of a prototype screening tool.

Results: Existing COVID-19 clinical screening tools do not consider age-related impacts on clinical presentation.
