Gender-Based Violence Narratives in Internet-Based Conversations in Nigeria: Social Listening Study.

Background: Overcoming gender inequities is a global priority recognized as essential for improved health and human development. Gender-based violence (GBV) is an extreme manifestation of gender inequities enacted in real-world and internet-based environments. In Nigeria, GBV has come to the forefront of attention since 2020, when a state of emergency was declared due to increased reporting of sexual violence.

Perceived risk and protective behaviors related to COVID-19 among the Nigerian general population: An application of the extended parallel process model.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), there have been heightened levels of fear worldwide. The steadily increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria as reported by the Nigerian center for Disease Control has led to different behavioral responses influenced by perceived threat and efficacy. This study aimed to understand the levels of perceived threat and efficacy to COVID-19 in Nigeria across various demographic groups using the Extended Parallel Process Model.

Public risk perception and behaviours towards COVID-19 during the first and second waves in Nigeria: a secondary data analysis.

Objectives: To describe changes in public risk perception and risky behaviours during the first wave (W1) and second wave (W2) of COVID-19 in Nigeria, associated factors and observed trend of the outbreak.

Design: A secondary data analysis of cross-sectional telephone-based surveys conducted during the W1 and W2 of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Setting: Nigeria.

Immediate assessment of performance of medical laboratory scientists following a 10-day malaria microscopy training programme in Nigeria.

Background: Rapid and precise diagnosis of malaria is an essential element in effective case management and control of malaria. Malaria microscopy is used as the gold standard for malaria diagnosis, however results remain poor as positivity rate in Nigeria is consistently over 90%. The United States President's Malaria Initiative (PMI) through the Malaria Action Program for States (MAPS) supported selected states in Nigeria to build capacity for malaria microscopy.
