Transient reactive phlebitis (TRP) is a rare adverse event seen with intravenous infusion of medications. It is characterised by the appearance of erythematous cord-like lesions along the superficial veins proximal to the site of infusion. It is rarely seen with drugs such as morphine, rocuronium, eptifibatide, propofol and vancomycin.
