Objective: To determine the prevalence of depression among diabetic patients followed at the outpatient department of King Abdul-Aziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at King Abdul-Aziz University Hospital, Jeddah, KSA, between September 2002 and June 2003. Demographic features, marital status, smoking, presence of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and other chronic illnesses were registered for both diabetic and non-diabetic groups.

Objective: To represent that glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is not requested by the physicians in spite of its critical importance in the monitoring of glycemic control and prediction of complications due to diabetes.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the outpatient department of King Abdul-Aziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, between October 2002 and July 2003. Out of the 265 known patients with diabetes, 130 patients were included in the study, which had HbA1c levels registered in their medical records.

This report describes a case of Takayasus arteritis in a 19-year-old Palestinian female. She conceived after diagnosis. Her pregnancy was complicated by uncontrolled hypertension, which was not associated with other markers of disease activity.

Objective: To determine the degree of blood pressure (BP) control in hypertensive diabetics and to study the types of antihypertensive agents used for BP control.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on hypertensive diabetics followed in the outpatient clinic of King Abdul-Aziz University Hospital, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from January 2000 to February 2001. Patient's age, sex, duration of diabetes and its control, duration of hypertension and the type of antihypertensive agents used, were noted.
