Background: Darolutamide and enzalutamide are second-generation androgen receptor inhibitors with activity in men with castrate-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and different toxicity profiles.

Objective: ODENZA is a prospective, randomized, multicenter, cross-over, phase 2 trial designed to assess preference between darolutamide and enzalutamide in men with asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic metastatic CRPC (mCRPC).

Design, Setting, And Participants: Patients were randomized 1:1 to receive either darolutamide 1200 mg/d for 12 wk followed by enzalutamide 160 mg/d for 12 wk or enzalutamide followed by darolutamide.

The authors report another case of rupture of the thoracic aorta in Giant Cell arteritis. The progressive nature of the rupture enabled life-saving aortic replacement with a vascular prosthesis. Only one previous report of this type of operation was found in a search of the literature.

Systemic thrombolysis is less than optimal in total occlusions of the iliac vein in which patency is 20% or less. We describe an interventional therapeutic procedure that may be effective in such cases. We selected 18 patients (average age, 29.

A 38-year old man was admitted for investigation of suspected endocarditis presenting with two cerebrovascular accidents and pyrexia. The initial clinical, echocardiographic and infectious investigations were normal, apart from a neutrophilic leukocytosis. The clinical course was marked by the recurrence of systemic embolism in the lower limbs, the appearance of cervical and axillary lymphadenopathy and, within a short period of time, of massive aortic valve vegetations.

Ventricular late potentials are post-infarction markers of the risk of ventricular tachycardia and sudden death. In order to assess their prognostic value and evolution after coronary bypass surgery, 100 patients underwent signal-averaged electrocardiographic recordings 24 hours before and 9 days after surgery, and were then prospectively followed up for 40 +/- 8 months. Patients who displayed late ventricular potentials underwent an additional recording at 5 months with 24 hour Holter monitoring.

Regarding 5 recent cases of cough induced by inhibitors of angiotensin conversion enzyme (CEI), the authors emphasize the still underestimated frequency of this annoying and sometimes disabling side-effect (10 to 15% of cases). They remind of their clinical and evolutive characteristics: dry cough, predominantly at night, often occurring rapidly, sometimes delayed (up to 17 months) after introduction of the CEI and unrelated to the dosage. The cough usually disappears in two to three days (up to 8 days) upon discontinuation of the treatment.
