Immune cells migrate to hypertrophied adipocytes and release proinflammatory cytokines, leading to adipocyte dysfunction and diabetes. Numerous species of , which are members of the plant family Fabaceae and distributed primarily in temperate Asia and North America, exhibit binding to peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) γ, a target nuclear receptor for treating diabetes. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine which species of plants exert an anti-inflammatory effect in adipose tissue and suppression of blood glucose increase through PPARγ ligand and radical scavenging activity.
