Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer worldwide and presents a significant challenge to public health. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a condition that is predominantly characterized by abdominal obesity and metabolic abnormalities such as hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia, and it is one of the critical risk factors for CRC. Traditional anthropometric measures have limitations in accurately assessing the risk associated with abdominal obesity.
