PLG entrapped antitubercular drugs when administered orally, were found to release the drugs in a sustained manner. This formulation was found to be stable in the acidic environment of gastric fluid whereas, in the intestinal fluid the drug release was obtained up to 20 days as indicated by in vitro studies.
