Mutational spectrum of MYO15A: the large N-terminal extension of myosin XVA is required for hearing.

Human MYO15A is located on chromosome 17p11.2, has 66 exons and encodes unconventional myosin XVA. Recessive mutations of MYO15A are associated with profound, nonsyndromic hearing loss DFNB3 in humans, and deafness and circling behavior in shaker 2 mice.

Susceptibility patterns of Escherichia coli: prevalence of multidrug-resistant isolates and extended spectrum beta-lactamase phenotype.

Objective: To study Escherichia coli (E. coli) susceptibility, prevalence of multidrug-resistant isolates and possible role of extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) in E. coli resistance.

Role of poly [DL-lactide-co-glycolide] in development of a sustained oral delivery system for antitubercular drug(s).

An oral formulation based on poly (DL-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLG) microparticles was developed for delivery of antituberculous drugs. PLG entrapped antitubercular drugs when administered orally, were found to release the drugs in a sustained manner. This formulation was found to be stable in the acidic environment of gastric fluid whereas, in the intestinal fluid the drug release was obtained up to 20 days as indicated by in vitro studies.
