Direct Puncture of the Superficial Temporal Artery in Embolization of a Scalp Arteriovenous Fistula: A Case Report.

We describe a minimally invasive endovascular approach to treat an arteriovenous fistula of the scalp. We performed a direct puncture of the lesion through the patient's scalp for liquid embolic agent injection along with external compression of the superficial temporal artery to perform a "manual pressure-cooker technique." The combination of these minimally invasive techniques resulted in an excellent clinical and radiographic outcome.

Acute ischemic stroke and convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage in large vessel atherosclerotic stenosis: Case series and review of the literature.

Atraumatic convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage (cSAH) is a rare non-aneurysmal SAH, commonly due to ipsilateral internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis. It is unusual for the cSAH to occur contralaterally to the infarct. We report two cases of acute ischemic stroke associated with contralateral and ipsilateral cSAH that had different presentations.

Transition to virtual appointments for interventional neuroradiology due to the COVID-19 pandemic: a survey of satisfaction.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way medicine is practiced, including the implementation of virtual care in many specialties. In the field of interventional neuroradiology (INR), virtual clinics are an uncommon practice with minimal literature to support its use. Our objective was to report prospective, single-centre data regarding patient and physician experience with virtual INR clinics for routine follow-up appointments.

Canadian Registry of LVIS Jr for Treatment of Intracranial Aneurysms (CaRLA).

Introduction: Stents reduce the rate of angiographic recurrence of intracranial aneurysms. The newest stent for intracranial use is the Low-profile Visible Intraluminal Support device (LVIS Jr).

Objective: To assess the efficacy of the new stent in a multicenter retrospective registry.

Background: There is a paucity of literature on early discharge after elective aneurysm treatment. We hypothesize that patient discharge on the next day is not associated with an increase in post-discharge adverse events.

Massive bilateral perirenal hematoma following urinary catheterization for urinary obstruction.

Urinary tract obstruction is a common problem associated with many complications. Decompression of an enlarged bladder has been associated with several complications, mainly vesicular bleeding. We report a case of a 42-year-old male patient who developed bilateral renal subcapsular hematomas secondary to relief of an extremely enlarged bladder.
