Plant height (PH) and ear height (EH) are important traits associated with biomass, lodging resistance, and grain yield in maize. There were strong effects of genotype x environment interaction (GEI) on plant height and ear height of maize. In this study, 203 maize inbred lines were grown at five locations across China's Spring and Summer corn belts, and plant height (PH) and ear height (EH) phenotype data were collected and grouped using GGE biplot.

Objectives: We aimed to analyze the risk factors of elderly women with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) using data on the SEER database, and to generate a nomogram model their 1-, 3-, and 5-year prognoses. The resulting nomogram model should be useful for clinical diagnoses and treatment.

Southern corn rust (SCR) caused by Underw is a major disease leading to severe yield losses in China Summer Corn Belt. Using six multi-locus GWAS methods, we identified a set of SCR resistance QTNs from a diversity panel of 140 inbred lines collected from China Summer Corn Belt. Thirteen QTNs on chromosomes 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8 were grouped into three types of allele effects and their associations with SCR phenotypes were verified by post-GWAS case-control sampling, allele/haplotype effect analysis.

Backgrounds: p53 is a tumor suppressor that prevents cancer onset and progression, and mutations in the p53 gene cause loss of the tumor suppressor function of the protein. The mutant p53 protein in tumor cells can form aggregates which contribute to the dominant-negative effect over the wild-type p53 protein, causing loss of p53 tumor suppression or gain of novel oncogenic functions. Mutations in p53 have been implicated in the pathogenesis of primary prostate cancer (PCa), and are often detected in recurrent and metastatic disease.

Background: Lynch syndrome (LS) accounts for 5% of all endometrial cancer (EC) cases and 4% of all lifetime risk of developing colorectal cancer. While current guidelines recommend LS screening for all patients with newly diagnosed colorectal cancer, there is no such guideline for screening patients with EC.

Discussion: This review addresses LS screening and discusses algorithms for testing patients in the setting of newly diagnosed EC.

Caveolin-1 (CAV1), a highly conserved membrane-associated protein, is a putative regulator of cellular transformation. CAV1 is localized in the plasmalemma, secretory vesicles, Golgi, mitochondria, and endoplasmic reticulum membrane and associates with the microtubule cytoskeleton.
