- A study evaluated the susceptibility of 37 isolates of Hortaea werneckii, responsible for tinea nigra, to nine antifungal agents from both clinical and environmental sources.
- Posaconazole showed the most effectiveness with the lowest minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) at 0.07 µg/mL, followed by voriconazole and isavuconazole.
- In contrast, fluconazole had the highest MIC at 14.56 µg/mL, indicating it is less effective against H. werneckii, along with caspofungin and anidulafungin also showing high MICs.
