Public Health Dimensions of CVD Prevention and Control - Global Perspectives and Current Situation in the Federation of BiH.

Background: CVD remains a leading cause of death in Europe and worldwide accounting for 3.9 million deaths each year in Europe alone. Even with well-known risk factors and the current standards of health care, improvement of health and quality of life of CVD patients are still remains one of the biggest public health challenges we must overcome.

Dental Recordkeeping: Practice in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Background: Dental documentation which includes main information about a patient and dental treatment provided is a very important asset of each dental office.

Objective: This research aims to analyze the way of fulfilling and keeping mandatory dental records and periodic reporting forms by doctors of dental medicine in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FB&H).

Methods: The study was observational with a cross-sectional design using a questionnaire as a study tool.

Water Pipe as Growing Public Health Challenge Among School Children in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Introduction: The water pipe is a form of tobacco smoking that recently become very popular among youth in many countries all over the globe.

Aim: To highlight recent data collected through Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) 2019, related to knowledge, attitudes and behavior of school children and youth to water pipe consumption.

Methods: The GYTS questionnaire for the Federation of BiH 2019 contained 60 multiple-choice questions.

Introduction: Health education is a process of acquiring knowledge and skills in order to improve the health of the individual and the community. It is considered the most effective, most economical and most rational aspect of health care and health culture.

Aim: To provide data on the effectiveness of printed health-educational materials.

Smoking cessation in school children in the Federation of bosnia and herzegovina.

Introduction: Quitting tobacco use has many benefits for both individuals and society. For individuals, quitting of smoking provides immediate and long-term benefits to health. Higher levels of nicotine addiction and start smoking at a younger age are factors consider as strongly influence on quit smoking.

Environmental tobacco smoke as risk factor in school children in the Federation of bosnia and herzegovina.

Introduction: Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) is defined as a human cancerogen class A, due daily exposure is responsible for health hazards consider as almost equal as smoking of tobacco.

Goal: Monitoring of exposure of school children to ETS as indicator of enforcement of ban of smoking in public places as tobacco control measure in the Federation of BiH.

Methods: Analysis of surveys findings performed in the Federation of BiH in period 2008-2013, with particular focus on ETS exposure in school children.

[Education in public health specialties in Bosnia-Herzegovina--learned lessons and recommendations].

Inspite the ongoing reform process in health sector of the Federation of B&H, there are still disharmony in the current legislation framework of specialization training of health staff in public health. The paper contained a comparative overview of the training plans and programmes of current specializations social medicine and organization with health economics and public health in B&H as also news from Croatia and Slovenia. Through discussing of current situation in the Federation of B&H, this paper is aimed to initiate more active approach of all the public health professionals in defining priority actions in harmonization of specialization training of health staff in public health sector, in line with international guidelines.
