Background: Fungal esophagitis (FE) is caused by fungal invasion of the esophageal mucosa. Under endoscopy, the esophageal mucosa shows edema, congestion, erosion, and ulceration, and bleeds easily when touched, and the surface of the mucosa is covered with small white spots like "bean curd residue". Clinical cases showing typical FE under endoscopic imaging but negative esophageal mucosal brush (referred to as suspected FE) have increased the difficulty and challenge of clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Although TACE has demonstrated good short-term efficacy, long-term prognosis remains a challenge. This study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of TACE combined with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors versus TACE combined with TKIs alone.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are extensively utilized in the treatment of oncological patients, and the immune-related adverse reactions they induce merit close monitoring. This report describes a case of a lung cancer patient who, after receiving chemotherapy in combination with the programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibitor sintilimab, presented with systemic fatigue, alterations in mental and behavioral patterns, somnolence, and symptoms of diabetes insipidus, leading to a diagnosis of grade 4 immune-related hypophysitis. The patient experienced symptomatic relief following pulse therapy with dexamethasone sodium phosphate injections (30mg every 12 hours), and was subsequently treated with prednisone acetate tablets (30 mg/day), which were gradually reduced to a physiological replacement dose.

Introduction: Systematic documentation of chemotoxicities in outpatient clinics is challenging. Incorporating patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures in clinical workflows can be an efficient strategy to strengthen the assessment of symptomatic treatment toxicities in oncology clinical practice. We compared the adequateness, feasibility, and acceptability of toxicity documentation using systematic, prospective, application of the PRO Common Toxicity Criteria for Adverse Events (PRO-CTCAE) tool.

The extent to which mRNAs that encode cytosolic proteins associate with the ER, however, remains controversial. To address this question, we quantified the number of cytosolic protein-encoding mRNAs that co-localize with the ER using single-molecule RNA imaging in fixed and living cells.

Here, we provide evidence that a subset of mRNAs encoding tail-anchored proteins, including Sec61β and nesprin-2, is partially localized to the surface of the ER in mammalian cells. In particular, Sec61b mRNA can be targeted to, and later maintained on, the ER using both translation-dependent and -independent mechanisms.

Treatment with A. alternata metabolic products enhanced senescence in leaves of different ages, as indicated by the significant decrease in chlorophyll, soluble protein, photosynthetic O(2) evolution and catalase (CAT, EC 1.
