Methods And Results: This retrospective analysis included 271 consecutive patients suspected of CS attending cardiac positron emission tomography combined with computed tomography (PET-CT) at our institution between 2007 and 2013. Visual analysis of PET-CT and semi-quantitative analysis of heterogeneity [coefficient of variation (CoV)] of myocardial FDG uptake were performed.
Safety and immunogenicity of 2 investigational formulations of diphtheria, tetanus and Haemophilus influenzae type b antigens of the combined diphtheria-tetanus-acellular pertussis-hepatitis B-inactivated poliomyelitis-Hib vaccine (DTPa-HBV-IPV/Hib) were evaluated in a Primary (NCT01248884) and a Booster vaccination (NCT01453998) study. In the Primary study, 721 healthy infants (randomized 1:1:1) received 3 doses of DTPa-HBV-IPV/Hib formulation A (DTPa-HBV-IPV/Hib), or B (DTPa-HBV-IPV/Hib) or the licensed DTPa-HBV-IPV/Hib vaccine (Infanrix hexa, GSK; control group) at 2, 3, 4 months of age. Infants were planned to receive a booster dose at 12-15 months of age with the same formulation received in the Primary study; however, following high incidence of fever associated with the investigational formulations in the Primary study, the Booster study protocol was amended and all infants yet to receive a booster dose (N = 385) received the licensed vaccine.

Aims: Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission tomography (PET) are suggested to improve clinical decision-making in ischaemic cardiomyopathy. Here, we present a unique cohort of patients who underwent nuclear medicine studies and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) both before and 1 year after coronary artery bypass (CABG) surgery to assess benefit from surgery.
Methods And Results: Before CABG, we applied three quantitative techniques using (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose-PET and (99m)technetium-tetrofosmin-SPECT with a software tool to measure defects with hypoperfused but viable and non-viable myocardium in 15 patients.

Methods: We enrolled 104 ischemic heart failure patients scheduled for coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG). After 4- to 12-week pharmacotherapy optimization, 39 patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of ≤45% received injections of BMMC or vehicle intra-operatively into the myocardial infarction border area in a randomized, double-blind manner.
The development of speech perception shows a dramatic transition between infancy and adulthood. Between 6 and 12 months, infants' initial ability to discriminate all phonetic units across the world's languages narrows-native discrimination increases while non-native discrimination shows a steep decline. While SNR can be improved by pre-polarization and signal detection using highly sensitive superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) sensors, we propose to use the inter-dependency of the k-space data from highly parallel detection with up to tens of sensors readily available in the ULF MRI in order to suppress the noise. Furthermore, the prior information that an image can be sparsely represented can be integrated with this data consistency constraint to further improve the SNR.
