Artificial intelligence (AI) has made significant strides by imitating biological neurons and synapses through simplified models, yet incomplete neuron functionalities can limit performance and energy efficiency in handling complex tasks. Biological neurons process input signals nonlinearly, utilizing dendrites to process spatial-temporal information. This study demonstrates the compact artificial dendrite device employing memristors based on bismuth oxyselenide (BiOSe).

However, the understanding of CAS patterns in the presence of mild-to-moderate coronary artery stenosis is limited. This study aimed to evaluate the incidence and patterns of CAS in patients with insignificant coronary artery stenosis using intracoronary acetylcholine (ACH) provocation test.

Further, thrombospondin-1 (TSP1), a matricellular protein, and activation of its receptor cluster of differentiation (CD) 47 have been linked with atherosclerosis. However, the role of vascular SMC TSP1-CD47 signaling in regulating VSMC phenotype and atherogenesis remains unknown.

Methods: Proximate analysis, mineral analysis, amino acid profiling, and fatty acid composition analysis were conducted from November 27, 2023, through February 2024 on 18 commercially available insect-based dog foods formulated for all-life-stage or adult dogs.
Results: Proximate analysis results revealed that all 18 pet foods met the Association of American Feed Control Officials guidelines.
Memristors based on 2D materials (2DMs) have attracted considerable research interest due to their excellent switching performance. Former synthesis methods for 2DMs aimed to synthesize 2DMs with a large grain size. However, these methods cause a stochastic distribution of defects in high-density memristor arrays, resulting in device nonuniformity.

Clinical and experimental data demonstrated that circulating monocytes internalize plasma lipoproteins and become lipid-laden foamy cells in hypercholesterolemic subjects. This study was designed to identify the endocytic mechanisms responsible for foamy monocyte formation, perform functional and transcriptomic analysis of foamy and non-foamy monocytes relevant to ASCVD, and characterize specific monocyte subsets isolated from the circulation of normocholesterolemic controls and hypercholesterolemic patients.

The microspore culture by chromosome-doubling method can produce double haploid lines, developing pure lines within the first or second generations. This study aimed to induce haploid plants in using the shed-microspore culture method.

Physical examination revealed rapid shallow breathing, pale mucous membranes, hypothermia, tachycardia, and hypotension. Thoracic radiography revealed mild pulmonary infiltration and pleural effusion.

Excessive NOX2 activity disturbs capillary barriers, but its global inhibition can impair bactericidal phagocyte activity during pneumococcal pneumonia. Depletion of the α subunit of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) in pulmonary endothelial cells increases expression and PMA-induced activity of NOX2.

To rebuild trust, this experimental study tests a psychoeducational intervention targeting misconceptions that (1) psychotherapy cannot change the brain; (2) people rarely have agency over biology while psychotherapy requires agency; (3) psychosocial causes, addressed in psychotherapy, are less probable given biological causes. U.

Previous inhibitors, including small molecules and CD4 mimetic peptides based on scyllatoxin, have demonstrated significant binding and neutralization capabilities but were often chemically synthesized or contained non-canonical amino acids. Microbial expression using natural amino acids offers advantages such as cost-effectiveness, scalability, and efficient production of fusion proteins.

This could be clinically detrimental, as combined pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy is often optimal. The distrust of psychotherapy is theorized to stem from dualistic reasoning that psychotherapy, perceived as occurring in the mind, does not necessarily affect the brain.

Method: The study included 93 paediatric patients with B-ALL treated at our institution between January 2017 and June 2022.
Background: Distal metaphyseal-diaphyseal junction fractures of the humerus are a subset of injuries between humeral shaft fractures and distal intra-articular humerus fractures. A lack of space for distal fixation and the unique anatomy of concave curvature create difficulties during operative treatment. The closely lying radial nerve is another major concern.

For PBSCT to be successful, sufficient CD34 cells need to be mobilized and harvested. Although risk factors associated with poor mobilization in patients with hematologic diseases have been reported, studies of patients with non-hematologic diseases and those receiving plerixafor are rare.

Recently, the introduction of O-ring type linear accelerators is increasing. The objective of this study is to evaluate the shielding parameters of new type of linac using a dedicated program developed by us named ORSE (O-ring type Radiation therapy equipment Shielding Evaluation).

In this study, flexible thermoplastic filaments, specifically PLA, TPU, PETG, and HIPS, were fabricated into boluses and then compared to commercial bolus for the variation of the dose elevation region of photon beams. The experimental results indicate that the maximum dose depth is similar, and the consistent trend of the percentage depth dose confirms the potential usage as a build-up bolus.

January 2025
The purpose of this study is to explore the predictors of bystanders' intentions to intervene and types of intended intervention in domestic violence (DV) and sexual violence (SV) situations in South Korea. Using nationally representative data from the 2016 National Fact-Finding Survey on Gender Equality ( = 7,399) and logistic regression-based models, this study focused on two key predictors, bystander gender and attitudes about gender equality, while controlling for age, educational level, and employment status. Our findings indicated that males and females were equally likely to state intentions to intervene in both DV and SV situations.

However, there have been limited data on the impact of hyperuricemia on long-term clinical outcomes in patients with critical limb ischemia (CLI) who underwent percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA).
Methods: A total of 425 peripheral artery disease patients who underwent PTA for CLI were enrolled.
A major challenge in assessing psychological constructs such as impulsivity is the weak correlation between self-report and behavioral task measures that are supposed to assess the same construct. To address this issue, we developed a real-time driving task called the "highway task," in which participants often exhibit impulsive behaviors mirroring real-life impulsive traits captured by self-report questionnaires. Here, we show that a self-report measure of impulsivity is highly correlated with performance in the highway task but not with traditional behavioral task measures of impulsivity (47 adults aged 18-33 years).
