Objective: This study investigated the relationship between diabetes (DM) and nitrite, nitrate and MDA levels and effect of melatonin and pentoxifylline.
Methods: Sixty mice were randomly divided into four groups. Control: no action; Diabetes group (DM): after fasting-blood-glucose (FBG) was measured, 150 mg/kg alloxane was applied intraperitoneally three-times every other day; Diabetes + Melatonin (DM + MLT) and Diabetes + Pentoxifylline groups (DM + PTX): following the same procedures with DM, 10 mg/kg melatonin and 50 mg/kg pentoxifylline were administered subcutaneously six days, respectively.
Aim: This study has been carried out to see whether renal function is acutely altered in patients undergoing sevoflurane anaesthesia. For this purpose, the urinary levels of markers of renal tubular function, namely leucine amino peptidase (LAP), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and beta-2 microglobulin (beta-2M), and urinary albumin as a predictor of renal glomerular function were measured before and after sevoflurane anaesthesia.
Methods: This study was comprised of 20 patients (11 males and nine females) aged 18-55, who underwent various elective surgical procedures under general anaesthesia.
Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the frequency of microalbuminuria and abnormal urinary beta2-microglobulin excretion in patients with Behçet's disease (BD).
Materials And Methods: Twenty-eight patients and 27 healthy controls were included in this study. Urine albumin/creatinine and beta2-microglobulin/creatinine ratios were calculated.
