Aim: To examine whether there was an improvement in the displaced fracture line in the follow-up, in which Anterior odontoid screw fixation (AOSF) was performed without manipulation and to determine the "displacement angle range" in which AOSF was possible.
Material And Methods: A total of 11 patients with the diagnosis of type II odontoid fracture who underwent AOSF without manipulation were analyzed retrospectively. A control group of 30 cases was formed and odontoid related angle measurements were performed on cervical computed tomographies (CT) of the control group and the patients who were operated.
Objective: The molecular events underlying ear development involve numerous regulatory molecules; however, the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) has not been explored in patients with ear atresia. Here, we aimed to investigate the expressions of 20-22 nucleotide noncoding RNAs.
Methods: We selected 12 miRNAs that function to control post-transcriptional gene expression in different pathways, including apoptosis, angiogenesis, and chondrogenesis.
Posterior instrumented fusion of the cervical spine is a common surgical procedure in the treatment of cervical subluxation, fractures, and stenosis. Although malpositions are commonly seen, it is rare to observe the malposition of the rod or interconnection because of hardware failure. A 62-year-old woman with spastic tetraparesis as a sequel to pediatric meningitis with C -C cervical subluxation and myelomalacia had undergone laminectomy of C and C lateral mass and C bilateral pedicular screw fixation.
