Finite Element Analysis of Bilateral Double Rod Constructs in Thoracolumbar Fractures.

Aim: To evaluate bilateral double rod contructs in thoracolumbar fractures in a Finite Element model MATERIAL and METHODS: A computed tomography of a 35-year old male have been chosen to create a vertebra model and 1/3 of the T12 was removed to create the burst fracture model. In model A, transpedicular polyaxial screws were inserted two levels above and two levels below the burst fracture. On each side the screws were connected with a single rod.

Comparison of bilateral cementless total knee arthroplasty results between patients in different BMI groups.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the results of cementless bilateral total knee arthroplasty (TKA) between individuals in different obesity groups.

Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study. Patients with a body mass index (BMI) greater than 25 who underwent bilateral TKA for gonarthrosis between 2014 and 2020 and completed a minimum follow-up of 24 months were included.

Purpose: Ponticulus posticus (PP) is a variation of the bone bridge that appears in the first cervical vertebra and through which the vertebral artery passes. Odontoid fractures are common spinal bone fractures in older people. This study aims to investigate the effect of neck movements on the odontoid and transverse atlantal ligament (TAL) of people with PP variation from a biomechanical view.

Suture button fixation method used in the treatment of syndesmosis injury: A biomechanical analysis of the effect of the placement of the button on the distal tibiofibular joint in the mid-stance phase with finite elements method.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to research the effect of suture button (SB) fixation, a method used at the treatment of ankle syndesmosis injury, which was applied in various angles, pretension force, and levels, on the distal tibiofibular joint (DTFJ) in the mid-stance phase, with the help of three-dimensional finite elements method (FEM) METHOD: The ankle of a healthy individual was digitally analyzed by a finite element method-based package computer program. Then, anterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (AITFL), interosseous ligament, posterior inferior tibiofibular ligament (PITFL) and deltoid ligament (DL) were cut and force and rotation has been applied to the proximal tibia, resulting in syndesmosis injury. Then, various suture button applications on the injured model have been analyzed.

Classification of Radiological Changes in Burst Fractures.

Aim: Burst fractures can occur with different radiological images after high energy. We aimed to simplify radiological staging of burst fractures.

Methods: Eighty patients whom exposed spinal trauma and had burst fracture were evaluated concerning age, sex, fracture segment, neurological deficit, secondary organ injury and radiological changes that occurred.
