Background: Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is one of the major pathogens associated with life-threatening infections, showing resistance to various antibiotics. This study aimed to assess the influence of monolaurin on biofilm-forming MRSA.
Methods: The agar dilution method determined the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of monolaurin against MRSA isolates and explored its impact on the resistance profile of selected antibiotics.
Background: A major worldwide health issue is the rising frequency of resistance of bacteria.Drug combinations are a winning strategy in fighting resistant bacteria and might help in protecting the existing drugs.Monolaurin is natural compound extracted from coconut oil and has a promising antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus.

Terbinafine belongs to allylamine and broad-spectrum antifungal drugs but considered practically insoluble. Different lipids/surfactant with two different molar ratios were investigated with Span 40-based niosomes; characterized for size, morphology, loading capacity (EE%), release, kinetics, and antifungal activities.

The current study was performed to evaluate the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of amikacin and imipenem alone and in combination against multidrug-resistant Methods: The combination treatment was assessed in vitro using a checkerboard technique and time-killing curve and in vivo using a peritonitis mouse model. In resistant isolates, conventional PCR and quantitative real-time PCR techniques were used to detect the resistant genes of Metallo-β-lactamase gene Imipenemase () and aminoglycoside 6'-N-acetyltransferase (aac ).

Combination of antibiotics has been found to combat multi-drug resistant or extensively drug resistance . In this study we investigate the in vitro and in vivo effect of amikacin and imipenem combination against resistant .

The present study focuses on screening, characterization, and partial purification of bacteriocins produced by sp. isolated from different clinical sources such as pus and blood.

Some reports suggested a relation between the Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccine and the malaria treatment to the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Some reports related infant's lower susceptibility to the COVID-19.

While HCV epidemiology, pathophysiology, and therapy are being deeply studied, rare attention is given to reciprocal interactions between HCV infection , HCV-induced chronic liver diseases, and the human gut microbiome. As Egypt has the world's highest prevalence of HCV infections, we launched this study to monitor differences in the gut microbial community composition of Egyptian HCV patients that may affect, or result from, the patients' liver state.

Mass spectrometry showed a monoisotopic mass of 7,231 Da, and N-terminal Edman degradation identified a 29-amino-acid sequence corresponding to residues 90 to 119 of the EF_1097 protein. Bioinformatic analysis showed that enterocin O16 is composed of the 68 most C-terminal residues of the EF_1097 protein.
