Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the relationship between ANGPTL4, HIF-1α, and inflammatory markers (NF-κB/P65 and IL-1β) in breast cancer, focusing on how they may influence cancer progression.
  • ANGPTL4 levels were found to be significantly higher in high-grade breast cancer compared to lower grades and controls, indicating a potential role in tumor severity.
  • The findings suggest that ANGPTL4, along with HIF-1α and other inflammatory markers, may serve as important signaling factors in the progression of breast cancer.

Pharmaceutical profiling studies were conducted on a novel prototype gamma-secretase inhibitor, to determine the potential of its oral absorption. Such compounds can be of use in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). The studies included determination of solubility, dissociation constant (pK(a)), octanol/water partition coefficient (log P) and the capacity factor (k'(IAM)) on immobilized artificial membrane (IAM) chromatographic columns.
