Aim Of The Study: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is regarded as the most relevant liver disease of the twenty-first century, affecting at least one third of the general population. NAFLD is associated with increased mortality due to cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer. The carotid intimal media thickness (CIMT), mean platelet volume (MPV) and endocan level could be markers for generalised atherosclerotic burden and endothelial dysfunction.

The G-protein-coupled chemokine receptor (Ccr6) is displayed on the surface of many types of leukocytes, that have been found in atherosclerotic plaques. It is a novel mediator of inflammation and immune response.

Methods: One hundred consecutive patients with hypertension were included in our study. Clinical evaluation, baseline laboratory investigations, 24 ambulatory blood pressure monitoring 2D echocardiographic examination and 2D STE were performed for all patients.
